My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
The "'pursuit" of happiness is cool and all but I run into allot of people that believe this is life's major goal. People often use this thought process to try to derail arguments, subjugate others or reality, profess the virtues of their crazy religion and generally as a catch all that is used to deter or prevent critical thinking and belittle the act of and personal growth involved with striving. Add to that, no evidence that I can 'hold-onto' happiness and my opinion of happiness as one of life's major "goals" falls to the floor. Does this make me a curmudgeon: no. I am a bit of an iconoclast in that I have no use for tradition if it is not the best way to move forward. Happiness is felt in those moments when you know you're following your passions. When you are in the midst of saving the world you feel connected, selfless, relevant, engaged...happy.

I'm just complicated and maybe condescending, to the casual or unwitty observer but in reality I'm a dynamically diverse human possessing curiosity levels that appear to be without end and the ability to fearlessly understand my world (as far as I am able) based on facts not beliefs.

I love sarcasm and it's ability (among other things) to make even the most egregious situations bearable. I am a INTP and a sapiosexual.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a full-time student. I'm learning to be a limnologist. Geeking out at every possible turn.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Critical thinking, fixing broken things, breaking working things, taking a non-linear approach to problem solving, wry comedy.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I ask allot of questions.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Coffee (not currently willing to test this)
Dark chocolate (not all chocolates are created equal)
Curiosity (I could not live without this)
Speeding
awe (my inspiration)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
This may sound super dorky but I think allot about how we as a society can teach people how to find joy and meaning in the cultivation of their own food and in being creative and unabashed in the kitchen, garden and in life. Preserving our fresh water resources and understanding how plants and animals interact in aquatic environments and dirt...I think a lot about dirt. Told you it was dorky:)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
At home with the wife and kids.....I think this may be part of the reason I came to okcupid; I need more social connections than I currently have. I tend to turn average people away ( including my wife) by what is seen as non-necessary critical thinking: I can leave folks feeling scrutinized, feeling I'm overly clinical or feeling embarrassed (most peoples sense of self worth is so inextricably tide to their ideas/beliefs that uncovering any as false or just plain ludicrous is so severely uncomfortable/damaging to self image that they must attack and/or leave). I guess I tend to be different hence the lacking social network. I will find my tribe at some point. I know they are looking for me:)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am married and poly interested. I have written this section and deleted it five times now. I believe critical thought is key to being a fully functional human being. I do not play well with arrogantly ignorant people. I am looking for like minded individuals and am only interested in open minded people. If you think you've got it all figured out and there is no more need to be curious.....go away.
