My self-summary
I'm vegan, queer, and I really like bicycles. Queer in the sense of I'm usually attracted to queer cis/trans men but the occasional punk rock dyke or non male-ish person will catch my eye. I grow a lot of my own food. I'm an on-again off-again bartender. I'm a Youth services librarian in a small Spanish-speaking branch of the public library and I love it. I refuse to pay more than five dollars for a piece of clothing... unless maybe it's a really, really good moto jacket from lip-service.There are a whole lot of things I'm planning on accomplishing and a fairly limited amount of time to accomplish them. I like to overwork myself. I am living a life of happy poverty and probably will not be able to take you out on an expensive date, but I can show you a side of Kansas City that not a lot of people know about. I do some performance art on the side, burlesque and whatnot. I have trained with many national non-profits around the country and am hoping to continue that work here. I'm enjoying life a lot. As far as dating goes I'm really open but pretty monogamously inclined. I know that makes me a bad radical queer but it's true. Not saying I'm looking to settle down, but just that I really like the idea of finding a moderately stable relationship.

Also, I set up next to impossible standards for myself and am constantly trying to make sure that I only apply them to myself.

I am ridiculous, self-motivated, and a punk wannabe

What I’m doing with my life
I just returned to school to finally finish my degree. I work a lot and am very active for causes I believe in. I'm pretty sure I'm going to library school if I ever, ever get a bachelors. I'm (perpetually) working on starting a queer burlesque troupe and right now I am working on making my library's land into a community garden. I also host the only showing of Rocky Horror anywhere near here. Making the news on occassion for just being so damned queer.

About 90% of my thinking goes into strategies and organizing or how to make myself a better person and serve others in a sincere way. There's another 7% or so dedicated to sex, and maybe another 3% focused on makeup and trashy movies. I idolize female rock icons.

I keep myself incredibly busy and often times my social life suffers for this.... I generally try to keep myself in check though.

I'm really good at networking and juggling an impossible schedule. I tend to pick up things fast.

Social movement and strategy as well.

The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my hair. Or piercings. Or that they can't tell if I'm a boy or a girl.

I don't care a whole lot about gender assumptions.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My favorite books are The Once and Future King and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. I also really like reading biographies of former activists. And I'm in love with Oscar Wilde. I read a lot.
I'm currently getting really into latina gang fiction. All I have been reading lately is queer YA books.

My favorite movies are usually John Waters films... and Tank Girl. I'm a fan of any movie that the makeup and hair can change in every scene and it doesn't detract from the film. I like movies that create their own worlds.

My favorite bands are Joan Jett, Siouxsie and the Banshees, the Epoxies, and most riot grrl stuff. Lots of other stuff, too. I feel like a bad ass when I'm walking down the street and Courtney Love is in my ear telling me all the things I want to hear.

As far as food... Totally vegan here. I volunteer on a small organic farm in the summer and grow a lot of my own food. Happy to go out to eat when it works, though!

The six things I could never do without
Food, water, love, bicycles, flowers, friends.
I know this list is pretty literal, but I don't feel like I need a whole lot more than the bare necessities to be happy.

On a typical Friday night I am
Probably at some dyke bar reveling. In whatever form that may take. I really enjoy dancing.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I was kicked out right after I turned 17.... And am happy that it happened.

(I found my family of transvestites and trannys and freaks and queers because of it.)

Oh and I'm like totally mensa brilliant. Like totally.
