Greetings, profile visitors. You can call me Wicks. I'm a nerdy
sort of fellow, big into
computer gaming and
table top RPGs. I'm
ENTP and it shows, I'm often at gatherings and small parties where
I can enjoy some nerdy conversation. I love running
D&D games, finding
the harmony between the players, reading their motives and actions,
and leading them into ever more interesting, dangerous, and/or
hilarious situations is something I absolutely live for.
Although I'm quite the nerd, I like outdoor activities as well as
indoor ones. Taking walks in
parks, short hikes, enjoying the sounds of
waterfalls,
picnics,
camping, and I've recently
taken up going to the
gym although several years of little or no
physical activity is making it quite the challenge. -- Update --
Woo! I've lost 30 lbs since starting my gym routine! So chop 30lbs
off my fat Alaska picture.
While I'm open minded and generally try to put myself in other
people's shoes, I have trouble in that regard when it comes to love
and sexuality. Quite frankly, I've never understood why people are
straight or gay (as opposed to bi or 'pansexual'), it's like being
vegetarian in my mind. I mean, I know it's just some people are
hard wired towards a sexuality, but... still...
If you're interested in me, feel free to ask me any question, I
will answer it. Also, If you don't understand something I've said,
ask me about it and I'll happily explain it.
Honesty is the best
policy when it comes to relationships, without it you can't
build trust. I'll talk with anyone, without preconditions even.
Right now I'm learning to be a mead brewer, I've apparently got
some talent for it, and really enjoy it. I am considering running a
meadery as a side business, but don't really have the business
knowledge on how to get it done. There's a lot of paperwork
involved. If you happen to want to help me get my license, I'll
worship you ;D
Running table top RPGs. Playing fighting games on console systems
(
Soul
Calibur). Fixing computers. Not getting paid to fix computers
(damn it!). Debating. Crushing my friends on RTS games until they
refuse to play with me -- Ooh, turnabout is fair play, now I've got
a friend who routinely ruins me in Supreme Commander.
The hair. It's long, curly, and makes me look like a hippy. I'm not
though, really, maybe a little bit... Oh, sometimes people notice
my laugh, I often have people tell me it's a great laugh, although
I don't think I've ever realized that was a sign of interest until
they've walked away... sigh.
I was thinking about this section, and it occurs to me it really
should be used to mention the things in life we're unwilling to
give up or compromise on. So here's my new six things:
1: Clear air around me (no smokers!)
2: Lots of friends (be social)
3: Love (not just sex)
4: Tabletop gaming (D&D forever!)
5: Forgiveness for my bad memory
6: The internet (it's an addiction)
Politics: How could we get the money out of politics when the only
people with the power to do so are the politicians? Would politics
be less enjoyable to watch with less corruption?
Transhumanism: If love is a series of chemical reactions, and we
were able to synthesize those reactions perfectly, would anyone
want to buy a drug or device that would allow them to fall in love
with whoever they want?
Love and Polyamory: How has the idea that you can only be in love
with one person (the soul mate idea) been so ingrained into our
society? Don't parents love their multiple children? Don't you love
both your parents? --This one has been coming up a couple times in
email, I do not currently practice polyamory. I a polyamorus
person, but I am perfectly capable of a monogamous
relationship.
Religions: Are there many other religions (than discordianism) that
believe that the creative energies of chaos are just as important
as the nurturing energies of good?
Sexuality: Is heterosexuality the norm because of genetics, or
society?
Eating
sushi in
Bristol, or hanging out with my friends and playing
Twilight Imperium
3 or
Settlers of Catan, maybe
playing some games on my friend's LAN.
I want my "more desiring of love" tag back. Love is the greatest
thing in the world!
I read tarot cards.... Norse mythology based tarot cards! Shh,
don't ruin my extremely rational and scientific image.
Feel free to message me for whatever reason. I like to chat, I'm
not afraid to meet people off-line who I meet online, and I love
making new friends. I especially like to chat about the nature of
love and relationships, and don't mind explaining
polyamory or my stance on
it.
Also feel free to message me if I stalked you and you want to know
why. Might start up an interesting conversation :)
