So I realize as I write this just how contradictory a lot of aspects of my personality and activities are. I guess that's the price I pay for having fairly diverse interests. I played lacrosse in college, played competitive sports my whole life, love watching football and hockey, and am a pretty regular gym attendee. But I'm also a nerd who loves Doctor Who, all things Joss Whedon, and owns altogether too many video games and books. I love going to live music, comedy, sporting events, movies, and socializing with friends, but I'm also happy spending a night sitting on the couch with a good book or just relaxing and watching TV. I love to cook, especially for other people, but also really like going out and discovering new restaurants. My job keeps me pretty tied up, but while it monopolizes more of my time than I like, I don't think it's a defining characteristic, it's just something I do. I've got a good sense of humor and am told I'm a funny guy. I do have a bit of a cynical and sarcastic streak, but I try to keep it under control.

Also, I'll be adding some more photos soon, once I take some. I've dropped about 45 pounds in the last year (amazing what happens when you eat better and workout more), but don't have any recent pictures - the ones I added are a year+ old, but they're legitimately the most recent pictures I have.

I'm a very good chef and a pretty good golfer. I'm also a pretty intelligent guy, and frankly enjoy talking and discussing things, both of the significant and meaningless variety.

Book (I'm going with series, since individual books is too hard, I have multiple overwhelmed bookshelves) - The Desden Files by Jim Butcher, The Amber series by Roger Zelazny, The Discworld series by Terry Pratchett, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series by Douglas Adams, and the Kingkiller Trilogy by Patrick Rothfuss.

Movies (ask me another day and this list might change, I'm kinda a movie junkie) - The Social Network, Cabin in the Woods, Die Hard, Blazing Saddles, The Avengers, Fight Club, The American President, Tin Cup, the Matrix, Princess Bride

Shows - Anything by Aaron Sorkin or Joss Whedon, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sherlock, Luther (just started it, but already love it), Get Smart (yes, the old show from the 60s), Suits, White Collar, Castle, Futurama, Once Upon a Time, Justified

Music - I listen to a pretty wide variety of stuff, but push comes to shove I'm kinda a metalhead. Favorite bands are Queen, Nightwish, At Vance, Metallica (Black Album and before), Kamelot, Alestorm, Muse, and Eminem.

Food - uh...I like food? I enjoy trying new things, so I'm pretty open. Favorites are thai, mexican, chinese, and bbq though.

Recently, work. But in general, my mind usually dwells on whatever I've spent a lot of time doing recently. If there's a book I'm particularly caught up in or a game I've been playing a lot, my brain will stay there. If there's a major news story, a political issue, or scientific discovery, it'll be there. Basically, I spend a lot of time thinking; whether it's "intellectual" thinking varies day to day.

Some combination of seeing a concert, seeing a new movie, going out to dinner/drinks with friends, getting lost in a book, catching up on TV, and occasionally working late.
