Hello. I'm Will Olmen. What to say, what to say...
Well for starters I'm ex military. Once part of the Army's 101st Airborne. Paratrooper. Did some time in Afghanistan and yes firing at people was involved. And led to some pretty funny stories afterwards. I consider my past with the military a relatively large part of who I am. Not to say that I keep my M-4 and uniform on the wall or eat, drink, and breath military. I simply view the values of honor and integrity that the Army instilled in me as excellent qualities to maintain in my life outside of the Army.
Aside from that I do a lot of CGI and image alteration. I've put together pictures for just about every subject from Christmas cards to Star Wars. Pretty damn good at it too; even had some of my Star Wars pieces put on the official starwars.com and received cash payment for them. When Lucas Film says you're good that's a nice feeling.
I love animals in general but dogs especially. Nobody could ever want a better friend than a well trained Rotweiler. Not only are they cute puppies and handsome dogs, but if you treat them right as they're growing up they will love you more than life itself and be the best damn guardian you could ever want.
Another hobby I have is writing. I've written stories since I was 14. Even tried to have one published at the age of 17, a 286 page book, and the publisher sent me quite the little response. Something along the lines of: "While your work shows great writing skill and has a story that I and my collegues all enjoyed reading, we feel that such graphic violence being published by a seventeen year old is not necessarily appropriate; especially considering today's political climate and recent events involving high school violence. (I sent it in a month after the Columbine incident) But please young Mr. Olmen, keep editting and improving the story and try us again in later years." ... Ok... so they said no for now, try later. What do I do? I keep it on disk and work on it. 3 years ago the unthinkable happens. The file on the disk gets corrupted and *pop* all my work goes to shit. Back up disk right? Corrupted too. Whatever got onto my computer to corrupt my files was saved on both copies. Life's work, all gone. Suffice it to say I puked. Literally.
Anyway, more about me... I'm cynical, sarcastic, and brutally honest; but not to people I care about. I try my best to keep it on a tight leash for girlfriends and close friends. And I like to view those as good traits to have because in order to be cynical and sarcastic you have to have a pretty decent grasp on the situations around you and a sharp enough wit to come up with smart assed little remarks. After all, a Smartass without smart is just an ass.
