My self-summary
Born in Kentucky. Grew up stickin' it to the Man in all-boys Catholic school and learning to love life at Summer camp in North Carolina. Studied Buddhism and Teaching at the University of Virginia. Rode a bike across the country twice and fell in love with America. Moved to Colorado to find myself. Found out the "real world" can be really challenging but also really, really fun.
What I’m doing with my life
By day I teach guitar and rock the front desk at an amazing private music school. I get a lot of satisfaction out of bringing a little more music into the world, and I'm hoping to continue generating enough classes to teach music full time. By night I drive for Lyft, which is also weirdly satisfying. I always meet interesting new people and the feeling of being my own boss is the best kind of freeing. I spend a lot of my free time out exploring the city and the mountains, reading good books, developing my at-home yoga practice (which involves lots of incense and facepaint and very little clothing), procrastinating on making songs and art, or studying some new hobby (currently music theory, flow art, and Texas Hold 'Em). I'm really eager to meet new people and have new experiences. I want to get the most out of my life here.
I’m really good at
Talking to strangers
Making geeky references
Dancing (ironically)
Saying "Yes"
The first things people usually notice about me
Big smile
Broad shoulders
Boundless enthusiasm
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
"Stranger In a Strange Land" by Robert Heinlein
"Autobiography of a Yogi" by Paramahamsa Yogananda
"One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" by Ken Kesey
"The Hobbit" by J.R.R. Tolkein
"Ishmael" by Daniel Quinn
"One Hundred Years of Solitude" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
George Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" Series

Firefly (Tragically cancelled before its time)
Arrested Development (Netflix works miracles)
Deadwood (Tragically cancelled before its time)
Game of Thrones (HBO's great too)
Narcos (Netflix, though!)
The Simpsons (Actually should have probably been cancelled by now)

My favorite cartoon growing up was Samurai Jack. Gotta keep to your roots.

I like comedies, adventures, and adventure/comedies. I have a serious weakness for "The Big Lebowski", and I have a really bad habit of opting to just watch that movie over and over. I like saving first experiences with a new movie for when I can watch it with a friend that loves it. Among other things I still really need to see "Breakfast Club", "The Godfather", and "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". I know, I know.

My Morning Jacket
The Allman Brothers Band
The Black Keys
The Rolling Stones
Harry Manx
Shakey Graves
Jimi Hendrix

I lean towards older and more classic Americana-type sounds but I'm always down to learn about new music. I can get behind any genre, what really matters to me is that the music just feels honest.
The six things I could never do without
1) My Guitar
2) A Good Book
3) The Outdoors
4) Creativity
5) Laughter
6) Adventure
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to stay in my moment, be joyful, and learn.
On a typical Friday night I am
...looking for something to do that will make for a good story on Monday.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I decided a couple months ago that I want to grow up to be a shaman.
You should message me if
...you play a musical instrument.
...you believe the Browncoats will rise again.
...you have a spirit animal.
...you play video games.
...you like having extensive conversations about everything and nothing.

If any of these apply to you then we will definitely get along.
