I'm married now to a wonderful man that I met here on OkCupid. If you're looking for friendship, read on! Otherwise, you'd probably be better served by clicking on another girl.

For a writer, I'm sure stumbling over this prompt. Maybe I'll come up with something witty later, but for now, the basics:

I'm the mom of a wonderful toddler who means the world to me. I'm recently divorced. I'm relatively new to the area. Both my BA and MFA are in creative writing, and I work as an editor. I love my job -- I get paid to read! (Well, and to do other things too, but the reading is the fun part.) I have a house, a couple cats, a handful of good friends, and more books than I have room for.

Books. Babies. Getting it right this time.

Fixing your novel? Sarcastic quips? Avoiding speeding tickets?

I'm not really good at: Figuring out what to say here.

I get a lot of, "Huh, you're really tall!" Yes. I am.

Books: Ha! How much time do you have? In no particular order, I love Carson McCullers, Abigail Thomas, Pam Houston, Flannery O'Connor, Aurelie Sheehan, Aimee Bender, Alison Deming, Jane Austen, Sarah Vowell, David Rakoff, David Foster Wallace, Willa Cather (hello, username!), Truman Capote, Eudora Welty, William Faulkner, Sylvia Plath (say what you will), Virginia Woolf, Judy Blunt, Richard Shelton, Rebecca Solnit, Louise Erdrich, Sherman Alexie, ... on and on.

Movies: I can't remember the last time that I had an uninterrupted two hours for a movie, so we'll switch this to TV. I love: True Blood (I thought I was past the "omg vampires!" stage, but apparently not), The Office, Treme, 30 Rock, Parks & Recreation, Big Love, The Big Bang Theory. . . On DVD: Carnivale, Lost, Deadwood, Arrested Development, and Firefly.

My toddler is very fond of Elmo and Clifford.

Music: Patty Griffin, Josh Ritter, and Jim White are my all-time favorites and roadtrip staples. I also love Kathleen Edwards, Eileen Jewel, Tom Petty, Ryan Adams, The White Stripes, Lucinda Williams, any good alt/folk/countryish people. (Well, not like Toby Keith country, but -- within reason.)

My daughter, my partner, books, a computer, a car . . .

One more, eh? Trees, maybe. Something green. Water. I lived in the desert for a long time and the thing that I missed most about the Midwest was the green.

Checking in with my old friend boxed wine? Um, or being a responsible parent. One of the two.
