My self-summary
I'm a rabble-rouser and a misanthrope and an angry young hippie. I'm a nerdy, geeky, loner with a deeply religious need for the outdoors. I'm fascinated by human stories and interconnected systems and I really like turtles.
What I’m doing with my life
Now: Finishing my first novel, exploring mystic inclinations, working a couple jobs, learning to make jewelry, learning to blacksmith, teaching myself American Sign Language, designing a small video game, building a garden temple, learning to build computers, saving up for trinkets, enrolled in a year-long wilderness immersion course so I can learn to live in harmony with nature. I'm... pretty busy.

Near future : getting some property out in the woods, getting a graduate degree in something, starting a small business that somehow involves my interests, learning about body communication, finding peace and strength, learning more about indigenous medicine and spirituality, magic, meditation, the human mind, communicating with animals, and storytelling.

Long-term: open a restaurant/tavern/antique shop, design video games, write short stories and novels; visit with indigenous peoples, especially in Africa and South America. Settle down in a loose-knit self-sustaining community of highly educated folks, tend my garden, forage for mushrooms, tend herds of goats and boars, watch the sunrise every morning, dance nakedly and ecstatically around a fire and stare at the stars and love every second of life deep down in my slimy gory guts.
I’m really good at
Listening, observing
writing short, dark stories
sneak attacks
crisis management
being forgetful, awkward
understanding what people are trying to communicate when they're out of their mind on hallucinogens
The first things people usually notice about me
I have a goldish mane, a big nose, and a powerful presence.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: 100 Years of Solitude; The Death of Ivan Ilych; Crime and Punishment; The Bingo Palace; The Things They Carried; The Penal Colony; The Unbearable Lightness of Being; Everything is Illuminated; Breakfast of Champions; Song of Ice and Fire; The Buddha in the Attic.

Music: Neutral Milk Hotel, Metric, Murder by Death, Jefferson Airplane, Procol Harum, Buffalo Springfield, Iron & Wine, Ugly Casanova, Simon and Garfunkel, The Mountain Goats, The Long Winters, Shostakovich, Tilly and the Wall. Rilo Kiley, Jason Webley, The Black Keys, DeVotchka, Wolf Parade

Food: I love food. Anything that's prepared creatively and skillfully. I'm into the organic and local scene, and I really like inventive combinations. I'm a big fan of food carts. I recently developed a frustrating allergy to gluten, so if you feel like sharing some non-glutenous recipes that are also non-gross tasting, I'm all ears.

Movies: Star Wars, Inglorious Basterds, The Gods Must Be Crazy, Little Miss Sunshine, You and Me and Everyone We Know, The Wall, some others

TV shows: The Office, Parks and Recreation, Louie, Community, Battlestar Galactica, Raising Hope, Burn Notice, Breaking Bad, The Daily Show
The six things I could never do without
rough textures
novel tastes
tasteless novels
big trees
fresh air
honest conversation
and kittens

Oops, that's seven; but I've got to have and kittens.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Happiness, magic castles in the woods, the way people move, mind-body-social-nature connections, video games, entheogens, morals and needs and desires, the ways we are formed by our environment and the ways we are formed by something within, communication and literary technique, art, freedoms and basic rights, concepts of male and female, how to be compassionate, the cycle of predation and the jarring paradoxes in nature
On a typical Friday night I am
at a small party or wandering around town; or outside somewhere, or having hazy, giggly creative times with friends on a couch, or at home furiously writing.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't really make more than a million dollars.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 18–35
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners, casual sex
You should message me if
you can hold a conversation, or are curious, compassionate, or enthusiastically open-minded.
