My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
If anything will ever be my undoing, it'll be over-sharing. This summary has been pared down four or five times now and I still feel like I'm saying too much. And the personality section, jeez. I'm considering a slash and burn approach to this profile; raze it to the ground and try to start fresh. But, seeing as how OKC is saying I've been shown in over 400 searches in the last 24 hours with 1 visitor, the damage has likely already been done. Sigh.

I like trying new things, so if you've got an unusual hobby or interest, that is a definite plus.

I love to laugh, and I find reasons to do so frequently. Despite my sarcastic and occasionally dark sense of humor, though, I'm a pretty nice guy.

I'm very honest, but not brutally so. I just don't believe in lying--deception is for the weak, for those who can't stand on their own merits. So, if you have any questions, ask; the more ridiculous the better.

What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm an Apprentice at Newport News Shipbuilding. When I'm not working, I am trying to cram as much fun into the day as the inevitability of sleep will allow.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Goofing off. You thought I was going to say something alluring like "picking out jewelry" or some other nonsense, didn't you? Something that would make me seem sensitive or cultured? See? Honest.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I suppose my hair is the most obvious, followed by smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: The Song of Ice and Fire series, John Dies At the End, Lamb, A Handful of Dust, The Stand, Catch 22, The Journeyer, Aztec, The Mummy, any ole thing Terry Pratchett has scribbled a word on, Hitchhiker's Guide, yada yada yada

Movies: Black Dynamite, Die Hard, Indiana Jones (IV didn't happen), Back To the Future(s), Clerks II, Hot Fuzz, The
Princess Bride, Shaun of the Dead, Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid, Boondock Saints, What About Bob?, Terminator 2, Bill & Ted, Dawn of the Dead (remake), Fight Club, Lord of the Rings, lots and lots and lots of movies

Shows: Dr. Who, Archer, The League, Community, Venture Bros, Breaking Bad, Metalocalypse, Farscape, Firefly, Dexter, Black Books and many, many more (all praise be to Netflix!).

Music: Amon Amarth, Metallica, Chevelle, Lamb of God, Queens of the Stone Age, Godhead, Dethklok, Queen, Garbage, Five Finger Death Punch, Avenged Sevenfold, so on and so forth (mostly rock and metal, for those keeping track). I give most music a chance, but I can't stand R&B (it is teeth-gratingly annoying), hip-hop/rap sucks in general, and country, for the most part, is not my thing. I have really weird outliers, though, and you can ask about them somewhere down the line.

Activities: I play in a local adult kickball league. Now those of you saying "but you said you hate sports, liar!" Please. Kickball hardly qualifies as a sport. It is basically competitive drinking with running and kicking involved. Jello shot before you're up? Sure. Dude in the outfield trying and failing to surreptitiously drink a beer in the outfield? Of course!

I like a lot of types of games, some physical, some not, but organized sports generally bore me. If you like sports, that's fine so long as you don't fall into obnoxious fan territory.

I play a lot of video games, but they by no means rule my life.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Laughter, wind therapy, good tunes, good friends, imagination/creativity from myself or others, or some form of entertainment (I get bored easily).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
a story that I'm trying to hammer into shape. It is a stubborn bastard.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
doing my damnedest to ignore the fact that I haven't slept much in the last week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I admit nothing! I want a lawyer.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You actually read through all this, looked at the questions I answered, and think you might want to meet me at some point. Especially if I messaged you first. ;)

Also, it pains me to say it, but kids are a deal-breaker. I want my own someday, but starting a relationship with someone who already has that kind of responsibility is too overwhelming. There are exceptions to every rule, but this is a tough one.
