I've been living in Seattle almost two years now and still love it. I have a job, I have friends and I have good times but i'm still missing someone to really share things with. While I don't need a relationship I am comfortable starting one and putting what I can about myself out here to take a look and see who I might find.

I'm a quiet, pensive sort of person who thinks deeply about a lot of things but doesn't necessarily share them aloud all that often. I think it's part of what has made me such a natural fit with the stoic, introverted kind of populace Seattle seems to engender. But that's only one part of me-I can be pretty chatty and humorous when I feel comfortable around people, and I'll usually be happy to talk at length about anything I have an interest in.

I possess a deep and abiding curiosity in the world we live in that I express by pursuing science in what ways I can. Usually this means reading articles, books and slowly educating myself through various free courses and the like. My eventual goal is to become an amateur astrophysicist and I progress towards this a little bit more each day.

I like video games, tabletop RPGs, comic books, fantasy and sci-fi. I also like hiking, camping, sailing, bars, and the occasional club. I'm not defined solely by any of these hobbies, and if you have a problem reconciling column A with column B or vice-versa then you can probably move on.

I presently work a decent job in healthcare administration that is not exactly what I want to do for the rest of my life, but paying the bills otherwise. Looking at career development in other areas. I'd love to work in video games, or the plethora of logistic companies here in shipping and what not. Research takes time.

I started doing volunteering at the Center for Wooden Boats to get more involved in the community and like it a great deal. Lovely location, beautiful when the weather is nice and a great way to meet different kinds of people. I'm hoping to start volunteering at the Pacific Science Center as well sometime soon.

Started taking Kyokushin Karate classes at a school near where I live. Hard striking style with solid representation in the MMA, yet also possessing the spirit and philosophy I so admire about traditional martial arts. Stickin with it so far!

Finally beat Assassin's Creed 1 recently which was kind of a slog, but I hear it's worth it for two. Splitting my online time between pursuits like Guild Wars 2, chatting and some online tabletop roleplaying with my friends.

Listening without judgment, talking with respect, knowing where I am knowledgeable and where I am ignorant and not confusing the two.

I think i'm a pretty decent cook, or at least I know how to make food a person can tolerably eat. I stick to pretty practical, simple things but look forward to a time when I can make something complicated and delicious. Always looking to learn new recipes and techniques!

I have a talent for random trivia, especially historical knowledge. I love to learn about places, people and things. How they got to where they are, what put them there, all of it!

Seeing myself through someone else's eyes is always challenging, especially here! I think it might be the fact that I have no accent, though people only notice this once I tell them i'm from Texas.

Friday is usually downtime for me, but I could conceivably be playing board games at a friend's place, having dinner somewhere else or just chilling at home.

I haven't been in a serious relationship before. I'm not really sure why, I think it's just a lack of real effort on my part to trying to go out and get one. I'm not particularly bothered by it and am pretty comfortable with being on my own, so that's probably also a part of it.
