I’m really good at
Giving compliments. So easy & it's huge!
Making others laugh and enjoy themselves. I'm easy to be around and get along with.
I'm athletic and love all sports, especially playing soccer, volleyball, and tennis. I adore the outdoors - love to hike, camp, travel, kayak/canoe, and ski when I can. Good at being courteous and considerate of others.
I'm a good writer, but I expect a lot of myself, so it can be frustrating. I have two rough outlines for books and I am considering writing a book. One is a simple concept that will be rather easy to write. My hope is it would sell well because it's message is going to be powerfully empowering and freeing. I have a friend here in RDU named Michael Thompson who is having his 2nd book published later in 2013, titled 'Search And Destroy'. His first book was published in 2011, titled 'Search And Rescue'. He inspires my belief.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm of fine German-Irish descent. My deep hazel blue eyes, thick muscle tone, and gentle warrior spirit I mirror after my Lord's. I'm genuine, transparent, inquisitive, happy-go-lucky, and very Romantic. It's not hard to quickly realize I'm Thoughtful, Encouraging, Optimistic and Kind... a lover thru and thru. No one can steal my Joy and nothing can kill my Spirit, which is YHWH - He's conquered the grave and He gives me Life, living in Me. I'm bold like Simon Peter, you will notice. I think this is good, I embrace it - it's part of the song God's put in my soul to sing. Sometimes, like with Peter, the boldness is laughable and seems silly and I have a good sense of humor and humility in those embarassments. But when that zealous boldness lines with Truth, the stuff of legend may ensue! I live for those times... and they come. I have moments - very few, but nonetheless - moments. My names mean 'Powerful Ruler' and 'Ruler of The Army'. Richard and Walter. I'm uncomfortable with the term 'Ruler'... sounds maniacal like a tyrant king. But I believe in the power of a name, and of it's significance at times. And I believe in my name.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
In reading: I like reality, something tangible & educational... Biographies, historical accounts, Encyclopedia entries, personal enrichment. I also like classic novels to improve imagination and writing ability.
Lately I've been reading American Sketches by Walter Isaacson. He details his gatherings from research & interviews of icons such as Einstein, Henry Kissinger, FDR, Bill Gates, Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon, The Clintons, Gandhi, and Ben Franklin. I'm half way through Waking The Dead, by John Eldredge, with a Wednesday morning men's group. That book has been incredible for me, life altering. WAKING THE DEAD - that book will change your life.

Movies: Documentaries first & foremost. Then comedy, drama, or action with a good plot. I actually appreciate love stories and sappiness more than most men. Those films usually contain some real-life dilemma that you can benefit from considering. ('Based on true events' is a plus.)
I like to get something positive from films now, so thriller's blood, fear and gore are unnecessary. I like leaving with a full heart, so feel-good stories are fast becoming my favorites. Marley and Me - as much as that hurt, I appreciated it's beauty in reality. Same with Passion of The Christ. I hope I never become desensitized to what those films portray.

I don't do TV shows much at all, but I do enjoy some sitcoms, like King of Queens and The Office. Sports are my weakness on TV - I'm still a sucker for some good football, soccer, or college basketball... but I'm better than I was formerly. And I'd like to continue that trend of making an effort to watch less and less.

Music: really depends on mood. I like a responsible subject matter. Sex, Money, Drugs, Anger, Intimidation, Machoism... useless foolery. I tend to prefer the pace to be slightly on the slower side. In the day I really liked Creed, Hootie & the Blowfish, and U2-Joshua Tree. I still do, but now I'm more in tune with Jack Johnson, Lifehouse (1st release), and Brandon Heath. Country music is good sometimes for a down-home feel. I like some jazz and Caribbean/island music. But I'm not entirely square- you can't deny the Black Eyed Peas are fantastic - regardless of their often poor choice of subject matter. Some Christian fav's are Jars Of Clay, Third Day, and Matt Redman. I am partial to male vocals over female vocals.

Food: I now prefer a Plant-based Diet. I find it enjoyable and notice I feel much better when I can refrain from meat and dairy. You don't realize how those foods have you feel until you've been off of them for 3 weeks and then try to integrate them again. I love Salmon Caesar Salads, Pineapple Pizza, and Salads w/Spanish olives & Catalina French dressing.
The six things I could never do without
My Bible, another couple carefully chosen & tested great books I've committed to read alongside it, warm friends, exercise/athletics, and prayer.

You grow most through the people you meet and the books you read. Those are the ways to gain ideas and understanding outside of your own.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The great things I've read recently: my empowering, self-made affirmation statements, quotes, and witty sayings I love to apply to my life. I'm often trying to "listen" to my heart. Once you make a consistent effort to notice what comes from your heart, you may make a habit of knowing when a "thought" is something that has come from your brain or from your heart. This is what I understand to be when Jesus called for "prayer without ceasing". It's consistently being aware of the movements of your heart, keeping them in line with truth and the Spirit of Christ. In doing so, you may effectively "take your thoughts captive" always being able to discern the Still, Small Voice from the heart apart from the shouting in the mind - your own thoughts or those injected by outside sources. I spend a lot of time keeping in check my ego which is often attempting to well up inside and set me up for a crash. I visioneer my dreams, fancying them as though reality so as to believe its merely time separating me from them. Belief is the fuel and visioneering IS belief. Without vision, people perish. Without belief, life get's mundane. I keep belief by keeping what I want right before my eyes.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm only Really Awesome half of the time.

You should message me if
You want a Man among men, with passions and strength. A Man with a will to follow the call to leadership in his household. A Man of Romance and chivalry who will put his Beauty (you?) BEFORE his own children and before his work. A Man who calls his family alongside him to pray for him and with him, together carrying out the work initiated in his Heart. A Man who prays with his sons: 'God, Father us'.
Message me if you want to run with A Man of Adventure, out to finish the race set before him. If you want to snuggle on the couch with a Man of Passion, living to sing well the song God's written in his heart. A Man who knows love and desires nothing more... desires NOTHING Else but to hear the words: 'Well Done, my Good and Faithful servant!" A Man who lives to make his every decision according to what will incite those words from Our Loving God on his day. If your Heart is beating 1000 MPH right now and you will love a man like this... you should message me. I'll take your hand and, at minimum, kiss it with Kindness! Don't be afraid, Love's never known a Man like this. He's waiting to be discovered; believed in. There are many like me. Embrace your Brother with pure Faith & you will find yourself feeling the Princess of a warrior king. Believe he is Good... that His Heart is Great...... because it is, and when he follows it, he will be your worthy king.
