My self-summary
Hello and welcome to my profile.

Here is a bit about me:

I'm a voracious reader, cinephile and all-around lover of life's multiplicity of experiences. Cultivating one's wonderlust is always a plus, as I've traveled the world in my life, having been to Kuwait, Germany, Poland, Italy, Switzerland and the United States. Some of my passions include photography, yoga, browsing a bookstore (though my Kobo Mini is starting to get jealous and might win that tug-of-war), trying new restaurants (within the strictures of my hyper-acidic stomach), exploring the most picturesque swatches of our noble city, working out (not tediously or robotically but somewhere between Woody Allen and Dolph Lungren) and philosophizing at the risk of sounding silly.

I'm single, never been married and with no children. I don't smoke and very rarely drink. Healthy living and a healthy lifestyle are important to me (with the occasional trips to chocolatiers like Soma, which I'm sure officially qualifies as health food).

Favourite fiction books: Ulysses, The Magic Mountain, War and Peace, Brothers Karamazov.

Favourite nonfiction: anything by Chomsky, Robert Fisk, Christopher Hitchens, Sam Harris, Richard Dawkins and Jared Diamond. (See more on books below).

I'm a big fan of The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, gently swinging hammocks, trees, mountains, lakes, reading in a park and taking copious amounts of photographs.

I've been told I'm very sensual, a great kisser, romantic, passionate, honest and that I give very good massages.

If this resonates with you, drop me a line.

All the best in your search.
What I’m doing with my life
Always working, writing, reading, creating. Life is an endless source of wonder.... create the magic.

Wondering how I can consolidate all my passwords into one awesome and totally memorable alphanumeric code that: 1. quotes the Simpsons; 2. is childish; 3. sounds sophisticated; 4. is cryptic enough to fool the Tom Hanks character in "The Da Vinci Nonsense."

Fearing that pixels will one day tire of being judged and fight back.

Thinking things like: 'When the wise man points at the moon, the idiot looks at the finger.... that's when the practical man steals the idiot's wallet."
I’m really good at
Creative writing, chess, not entirely unskilled in the culinary arts, photography, optimizing the use of oxygen.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm not carrying any magnesium. I come in peace. I'm only marginally radioactive.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Fiction books: Moby Dick, War and Peace, Ulysses, The Magic Mountain.
Nonfiction: anything by Chomsky or Robert Fisk. Also, Man's Search for Meaning by Frankl, as well as any book by Ramachandran, Jared Diamond, Darwin, Arendt or John Douglas.
Movies: Citizen Kane, Vertigo, Raging Bull, Little Miss Sunshine, Sideways, Bridge on the River Kwai, Up, Up in the Air, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Lost in Translation, La Jetee, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Goodfellas, The Breakfast Club, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, anything by Kubrick, Scorsese, Woody Allen and Will Ferrell. Python's Life of Brian and The Holy Grail.... and a cornucopia of other titles.
TV shows: Seinfeld, Pawn Stars, 48 hours, Mayday
Food: anything Italian, Greek, Thai, Chinese. Nothing spicy.
The six things I could never do without
My family.
My friends.
Curiosity about life, the universe, people and how things work
My Kobo eReader.
A computer.
Puppies.
The belief in not conforming to someone else's dogmas and breaking at least one rule.
Chess.
Compassion

The six-seven-eight-nine-ten things I could definitely do without:

suffering in the world (it's not part of god's plan, it's an incredible pain in the ass)
viruses
congenital diseases, especially in children
earthquakes, tsunamis, floods (also not part of god's plan)
country music
cowboy hats
words like "chillax," "yo" and "what's up?"
aliens/ parallel universes
People who staunchly deny that chocolate is a food group
Gunk on my toothpaste dispenser
Bad teeth
Slow Internet connections
Warmongers
People who think that everything is an art.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Arts, sciences, philosophy, religion, literature, cinema.

Why the History Channel has morphed from an information bonanza to the "everything comes from aliens" channel.

How the universe began.

How much I love learning from people around me.
On a typical Friday night I am
Imbibing sterling literature, composing somewhat appreciable and commendable literature.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a sucker for Canada's Wonderland....
I always sleep with my socks on.
I'm extremely particular about where I put my jacket down.
I'm incurably suspicious of cats.
I’m looking for

You should message me if
You're kind, sweet, classy, mature and comfortable with who you are.
You're ambitious, honest and straightforward.

Or, barring that, message me if:

....you find Jon Stewart awesome and infinitely more informative than Fox News (ditto for Stephen Colbert).
... you think Kim Kardashian is part of a secret alien plan to stultify humanity by subtle degrees in order to one day take over our civilization.

OR.... you simply think that we might have chemistry....
