I am patient, giggly, and straightforward.

My Self-Summary

I believe in moderation even of moderation itself. My excesses are usually of chocolate or information.
My favorite song has been "Simple Gifts" since I was about eight years old.
I would like to go skydiving someday.
I might not mind living in a cave.

What I’m doing with my life

I have about two years of college before I get my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in silversmithing. That's in addition to my B.A. in mathematics, which was a lot of fun. Then I get to figure out how to make money from art.

I’m really good at

finding things

The first things people usually notice about me

I don't say much.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Les Miserable, The Unnameable by Samuel Beckett, and Peterson's Fieldguide to Edible Wild Plants

Movies: Adaptation, The Weather Man, Evita, and The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean

Music: Tom Waits, Tori Amos, Beethoven, and khoomei.

Food: Berries, beef jerky, and rhubarb pie.

The six things I could never do without

libraries - I can't keep every book I read in my house; there isn't enough room. I do keep my favorite references.

problems - I hate being bored; I need problems to solve.

normal people - without whom there can be no pleasantly weird ones.

humor - I can almost always find something to giggle about even when I feel miserable.

touch

dung beetles - without which the surface of Earth would be several feet of manure.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

how to respond if someone asks what I am thinking about, what happens to everything I throw away, what a bad day some person must have had to be so inconsiderate, what is the nature of the soul, where will I be five years from now, cuddling, etc.

On a typical Friday night I am

tired, resting, and either watching a movie or playing scrabble.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

My legs are probably hairier than yours are, though my underarms may not be.
