My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
You know that black kid you went to school with that everyone teased with some paraphrase of "You're not black! I'm blacker than you!" right? Yeah, that's me.

I'm a pretty big nerd at heart. As in Battlestar Galactica is one of my favorite shows ever, anything Joss Whedon touches is gold, and I've been to more than one con. No shame in that, but people tend to be surprised, so it’s better to be up front.

I have a dog, adore kids, and don’t think I could seriously date someone who doesn’t appreciate either. I'm originally from Cleveland, OH, the most cursed sports town in the world. God bless Atlanta for giving me playoff teams to root for!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work in the corporate office of a small restaurant company. My schedule is usually M-F, 8-5, but I'm on the road a lot, sometimes with less than 24 hours notice. It's stressful and time consuming, but in the five years I've been here, I've picked up a lot of new knowledge and skills.

I try to work out at least 4 times a week, hoping that at some point I'll actually grow to enjoy doing it. My eye is on the 2013 Peachtree Road Race in July & the Atlanta Marathon in October.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Connecting with kids & animals (except cats).

Using self deprecation as a defense mechanism.

Having and following nonlinear conversations.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
90% of OKC answers "my eyes" or "my smile." Big yawn.

I'll say my mouth. I swear like Debra Morgan from the show Dexter.

SHOWS - [CURRENT] Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Castle, Sons of Anarchy, Dexter, Homeland, Nikita, The Good Wife, Southland, Switched At Birth. [DEARLY DEPARTED] anything from Joss Whedon, BSG, The Wire, The Shield, NY Undercover, NYPD Blue, The Sopranos.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Skipping the answers that apply to everyone (family, God, cell phone, zzzzzzz...).

1. Coffee

2. Pepper, my dog.

3. The ability to drive.

4. Rollercoasters. I am a coaster junkie always looking for a fix and I refuse to seek help for my addiction.

5. GOOD Tequila. "Cuervo" is a swear word in my dictionary. Put a bottle of Milagro or Casa Dragones in front of me and you're talking my language.

6. Audio podcasts.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
- Going to Scotland this May for a reunion with a bunch of my non-American friends

- Training for and running a full marathon in October.

- Learning a musical instrument.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out somewhere with a drink in my hand. Location varies depending on who I'm with that particular evening.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm very clumsy.

You read this novel of a profile and don't think I'm too much of a nerd to talk to.

One thing I've learned on this site is that we all pretty much want the same thing. Someone trustworthy and fun and open-minded and blah dee blah blah blah. I don't expect anyone I date to be into the same stuff I am, just accept that my interests are my interests, yours are yours, and if we get past all the surface crap, there might, just might, be a connection there.
