My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Don't count syllables
This is a perfect haiku
What, don't you trust me?

I'm here to tell stories, watch horror movies, drink dark beer and have as much fun I can in this crazy city. My best thinking and my best singing both happen in traffic. PR monkey by day, writer/rabblerouser by night.

I'm trying to read a lot more, so book recommendations are welcome!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work in public relations for indie video games, but I studied literature in college and I'm planning on an MFA sometime in the near-ish future. I'm working on a few stories that I'd like to publish or send in as application materials or both. If I like you a lot, I might even ask you to read them during the process and tell me what still sucks. What can I say? I like it rough.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I trained as a classical ballerina for over 13 years and I try to keep up with my flexibility and pointe work as best I can. It's tough to get in 6 classes a week nowadays but I manage to get a barre session in at home every now and then. I'm pretty alright with words too. Rumor has it I can also make a mean chili (it's all in the salt. Everything is in the salt. Also, red wine. Sometimes I even put it in the chili.)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Curls. It's always the curls, unless I've slicked my hair back. Then it's something about how I resemble Trinity from The Matrix.

I like to cut my hair myself, so the feedback is always appreciated.

I'll read most anything, but lately I've been digging Chuck Palahniuk, Edgar Allan Poe, Sheridan le Fanu, Bret Easton Ellis, Lyudmila Petrushevskaya, Haruki Murakami, Ramsey Campbell, Christopher Moore, Gillian Flynn (still reading Gone Girl, so no spoilers!) Vladimir Nabokov, H. P. Lovecraft, and Mary Gaitskill. If I absolutely had to sum up the type of literature I'm interested in, it would be a category called "the bad things that good people do", but that's by no means a catch-all.

I watch lots of movies when I can find the time. I'm a fan of Quentin Tarantino, Christopher Nolan, Chan-Wook Park, Takeshi Miike, James Wan, Alfred Hitchcock, David Lynch, Stanley Kubrick, Kim Jee-Woon and David Fincher.

Lately I've been listening to a lot of David Bowie, The Raconteurs, The Beatles, Arctic Monkeys, Janelle Monae, Elliott Smith, Blockhead, Beach Boys, Lovage, Otis Redding, The Horrors, Mr. Twin Sister, Frank Ocean, Portishead, RJD2, Kanye West, The XX, Gin Wigmore, The War On Drugs, Pink Floyd, Spoon, The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger, Cults and Death (they're a punk band from the early 70s that didn't get a lot of recognition until really recently - check them out!)

As far as food goes, I'm part-goat. I eat anything, so let's go exploring.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
(in no particular order)

A laptop with a word processing program
A stack of books I have yet to read.
A manageable amount of organized chaos.
Sunlight, and lots of it.
A little bit of privacy
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How long I can remain in the same transitional phase before it stops being transitional.

Fuck it, why not? Nobody's getting any younger. If you are, you should probably get that checked out.

I'm very friendly once you get me talking, but still working past a bit of shyness. So if I messaged you first, I'm SUPER duper interested.
