When I meet people for the first time face to face, I can be shy; that is one of the reasons I like chatting with someone online first to get a feel for them, and when we meet we are not total strangers sitting in uncomfortable silence.
I do not take myself too seriously; simply put we humans are funny creatures. I find joy in simple things, sunsets, cuddling, good conversation, the sound of rain on an otherwise quiet night. Time spent in the Common, in a friend’s backyard watching cave man TV (bonfire), on a beach, in the woods. Don't get me wrong I like other not so simple things, Tech toys, consol/computer games, and the things that make modern life comfortable too.
I find people open up to me easily; they speak what is on their minds; tell me things they may not tell others and come to me for perspective or advice. This is a little strange to me since I feel I am not the most "put together" person on this planet, but then it may be my imperfections that make me approachable, and I could at asking pointed questions to get you to look at the situation from more angles.
My spirituality is important to me; a quick description of my religion is Eclectic Pagan. I have a unique way of seeing the world. My values and morals are my own, a mix of the Catholicism I was raised with, and the Pagan views I hold now. Most times they walk well hand in hand but sometimes I have to unlearn less open ways of thinking to find balance. :Edit: I was thinking about my beliefs today and ended up thinking how interesting that the heterogeneous nature of my Ethnic background (Amero-mutt) reflects the Eclectic nature of my beliefs and practices.
I want to add that my Body Type is Overweight. I am not some short skinny fine boned petite chick. Some people can't seem to tell that from my pictures, and don't notice my profile states 5'7" and overweight. I am working on being healthier so that I can enjoy sports again, but I'm not there yet, and it’s going to take a little work. So if you only like skinny minis or slightly chunky you may want you look elsewhere. "I'm all about the bass, no treble." ~Meghan Trainor
I have many different interests, and some people may think it’s because I can’t stay foc… ooooo look a shiny!! ……. What was I saying? Oh heh, focused… however, it’s just that I have had people in my life who have introduced me to so many things that just pinged an interest (and maybe a little ADD…) A lot of my activities have been pretty sedentary over the last few years but I really want to be more active, so more outdoor activities are needed, Boston is a beautiful "walking city". I love the outdoors, the Forest, the Beach, the Farm, the Ocean (on a boat bring the Dramamine just in case). Walking, hiking, swimming, (I love the water) playing a sport (be very patient I’m out of shape, unless you count pear).
I have a knack for Fiber Arts, Crochet, Needle Point (cross-stitch mostly), Spindling, Sewing.
I am a bit of a geek/dork/nerd… a gamer… RPGs, CCGs, MMORPGs (WoW), LARPs… though it has been a while since I’ve participated in most of those, it is/was something I really enjoyed doing. I still play WOW, "For the Horde!" and recently started playing SWTOR.
Conventions! I love cos-players! Shore Leave, Arisia, Gallifrey One, PAX East, Comic Con. Yes I also cos-play to some degree, I have a Gwen Cooper, Donna Noble (complete with a handmade Adipose), and Renaissance Gear, (I love bodices and corsets!), and have come to love circle skirts.
I’m also an Anime fan, it is a guilty pleasure, the artistry, the stories, and oh the silliness! Hayao Miyazaki is an artistic genius.
I really like learning new things and to do new things, or more about something I’m familiar with, or random useless facts. I am a sponge for useless random facts. If I could retain more important things I might be dangerous.
Once upon a time (high school) I was a theater geek, YAA at the Wang Center, and an "import" cast member for the BCHS dramatics society, 95-97.
I’ve always loved history, and anthropology… I love to know what our ancestors did… partly because of my spiritual practices (re-claiming), but even when I was young history sparked my interest, guess you could say I'm an amateur cultural anthropologist. So spending time in any kind of museum art, natural history, science, is a great way to spend an afternoon.
FYI, since they only let you talk about dogs and cats in the pet section... I also own a Colombian Red-Tail Boa (snake) at last measure she was around 6 feet long.
And I will end as I began with an FYI that I am in an open relationship/poly-amorous, we are new to this so please be patient, I like to make sure my primary partner is comfortable with what I am doing. You need to be OK with the fact that you are not my primary partner, or don't waste your time. If that doesn't faze you or are just curious keep reading. Please realize as well that I'm here to make friends first, and then if there's chemistry see where things could go.
