My self-summary
If you want to message me but (somehow) don't know what to say...just Wink me and I'll do my best to send you the first message! I can't tell who is just stalking me and who is trying to drop me a hint anymore!

I live in the lowcountry of South Carolina. I went to a two year school for Computer Science but I never finished. I would like to go back to school, but I cannot decide between Computer Science, Business Management, or English with creative writing emphasis. I work retail and I love my job. I go to work every day excited and ready for action...and not only am I moving upwards quickly but I don't plan on stopping either.

I enjoy writing a lot. I wrote my first short story in Middle School...I still have a copy in a box somewhere. I'm working on a fantasy novel but I often find myself writing everything from poetry to short stories. I find that a blank piece of paper appears to me like a blank canvas does to an artist. Something just begging to be filled. I would love to trade stories with other people...or play creative writing games (where one person starts a story and the next person does the next part, and back and forth).

I rarely do anything by myself. My religion is completely improvised and I love to tell anyone about it if they ask me.

I post to my journal from time to time so if you want to read a bit of my thoughts then be sure to check it out! I'd love to get more comments on my posts...

I want to spend more time outdoors than I do. In fact I wouldn't mind just disappearing into the woods for a couple of days and living a bit closer to nature for a while. Not the woods in your backyard mind you, but maybe one of the many trails that interlace South Carolina that nobody seems to know about. Real wilderness. But then again...I'd probably end up retreating back to civilization after a couple of hours. Oh'd still be fun!

I love to discuss pretty much anything but politics...people go crazy over politics. I'm learning how to play the harmonica by constantly playing it rather than taking lessons. So far, so good.

I am an avid writer, kinda geekish, and a conversationalist
What I’m doing with my life
I'm currently working on my retail management career. I am surprised about how loyal I've become to my company. When I ponder the reason I've discovered it simply comes down to they have treated me really well. It is something that may or may not become a life time career...although its hard to see myself spending more than ten or fifteen years there. I've been there eight years already.

If I had the right moral support (and finances) for it in my life I'd leave tomorrow and finish up my education and become a writer. It takes an understanding partner to go to work while I would stay home and write. Plus I'd need someone to keep me on it so I don't get distracted!

In fact, if I could become a successful professional writer that has always been my dream job.

I'm also saving up for that next trip!
I’m really good at
I'm really good at writing...I used to help my classmates write their papers when I was in school. I have to admit that this is something I enjoy. If you ever want advice on how something you've written sounds...I can always look it over for you (although I don't think my opinions are worth more than anyone else's opinions). I love playing word games...anything from association games to Scrabble!

I'm also told I can make people laugh a lot...which is probably one of the best compliments I can ever received! Of course, often times when I'm put on the spot I can't think of anything...but that doesn't count! Right? Right?!

I've been told that I'm also good at making people happy. :-) But I only say that because someone else told me to edit it into my profile! Honest!
The first things people usually notice about me
Usually my hair. When it grows out it starts to get really fact I sort of a get a curl 'fro. It was starting to get awkward at work...old ladies I had never seen before would come in and ask to touch my hair. Who asks someone if they can touch their hair? .....well, besides old ladies apparently.

My beard also gets noticed a lot. I'm black Irish. Yes, it does exist...people think I'm making a joke! Because I'm Irish I don't grow a mustache but I do grow a beard around my jawline. When I let it grow out people say I look 1) Amish. 2) Like a leprechaun. 3) Like Abe Lincoln.

UPDATE: I have now been told I look like a hobbit and the satyr-thing from Lion, Which, and the Wardrobe. Great. Apparently I'm starting to get a collection of "things I look like".
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love fantasy books. Terry Pratchett is great...and I find myself reading him a lot. Tad Williams and Orson Scott Card are great too...but they're a bit more serious. Weis and Hickman are old favorites of mine as well. I don't read non fiction very often but I probably would if it were recommended to me by someone I respect.

I'll watch almost any kind of movie, but I usually won't see it in theaters unless it is a comedy or has some really good special effects. In fact I won't go see a movie at all unless I have someone who is willing to go with me. I don't like watching drama movies unless they are REALLY good but if someone is going to the movies with me I'll usually let them choose what we see.

I don't have many CDs. On the radio I'll listen to either an alternative station, a classic rock station, or a talk npr. I don't use my mp3 player but I do have a variety of music on my computer that I enjoy listening too depending on my mood.. One of my favorite things to do to relax is put on rain-music and light some incense and turn off the lights and fall asleep.

I'm naturally attracted to junk food. I have a horrible sweet tooth too. Corn dogs, oven pizzas, and apple pie and ice cream are all favorites. I love the food they have at the fair! I think as a child my mother didn't cook much so now home-cooked meals always through me a bit. I can't cook many dishes, but I'm great at Turkey Tacos and Mango Stir Fry! Oh! And I'd love to go to Sushi bar!
The six things I could never do without
I think this section is kinda stupid. I always see the same answers over and over again. Seriously...air, food, water, house, internet, and love? Bleh.

Anyways, I'm just going to make something else up to put here. I'm going to do the six things I want to do before I die:

1) Learn how to read sheet music. It doesn't matter for what instrument...I just want to learn.

2) Learn another unusual one (Latin maybe?)

3) Die in Love.

4) Publish my fantasy novel.

5) Own my own house.

6) Scratch that last one...already did it.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I spend a lot of time thinking about writing my book. I'm always coming up with plots, fleshing them out, discarding them, creating new characters to work in, and then starting the process all over again!

I'm also trying to figure out a mini-vacation so I can have a chance to go and do something I haven't really done before. I'm still thinking it over but so far going hiking/camping for a week. Well...maybe not that long. But right now I think spending some time with nature would be good for me. Then again it'd probably be good for anyone!

I also have a curse. I see sexual innuendos in almost everything and have to struggle to keep my mouth shut.

On a typical Friday night I am
Usually I'm writing or working or playing a game. Sometimes I'll go for a walk around the apartment complex and wonder what causes some people to greet me and others to ignore me.

UPDATE: Friday is now Vegetarian Day for me. I don't have what it takes to stop eating meat all together...but from now on I make sure all my meals are animal friendly...on Friday.

SECOND UPDATE: Vegetarian Day failed.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My largest vice is video games. I wish I knew someone around where I lived that enjoyed casual video gaming like me. I've never participated in a video game tournament and I don't think I ever would. I own several video game systems but narrowly avoid playing them daily. Rock Band is very addictive and if you haven't played it yet you should give it a shot.

I'm also a HUGE sucker for playing drinking games.
I’m looking for
  • Girls
  • Ages 21–35
  • Located anywhere
  • For new friends, long-term dating
You should message me if've ever drank something through a twizzler. want someone to debate philosophy with. enjoy Video Games.'ve ever played a board game but invinted your own rules. stop to stare up at a starry night sky or a full moon. Or you're not afraid of someone who is an old fashion romantic. think "You Are My Sunshine" is a really sad song. think there is just something simple and meditative about fishing (even if you never catch anything). enjoy reading and have a recommendation for me.

Bonus points to anyone who messages me first with a message that is more than three lines. SERIOUS bonus points. I'm always the one to have to message someone first...and the few I get tend to be real short which makes it difficult for me to reply. But if you want me to go first just wink me and I'll write the first message. ;-)
