Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
You know what? I've been going about this all wrong. Trying to
downplay my geekish tendencies to maybe attract somebody whose
tastes aren't as eclectic as mine (or at least not in the same
direction) is clearly not working. So ladies: I'm a geek! I run a
website where I've been reviewing small press comics for the last
12 years and think (at its best, like all art) that it is a
completely unappreciated art form. This also means that I have
amassed quite a pile of graphic novels and comics from those years,
which also includes some superhero stuff. I follow the writer, not
the character. I play video games, although I tend more towards the
Lego games and things of that nature than first person shooters.
I'm about 1/4 of the way through the Time Magazine list of top 100
books since the start of their initial publication date (1925) and
can recommend a few of them if you're interested. I can also tell
you which ones don't seem to belong there. I'm very ambitious, but
not in my current job, for reasons I'd be happy to tell you about
if you're curious. I'm one more paycheck away from being completely
clear of debt, so there is very little danger of me being a
deadbeat boyfriend. This rant was added on 4/16/13 while the rest
of this page is older but meh, it still seems more or less
accurate. So if you have the same interests as me, or at least an
open mind about that stuff or a desire to expand your interests a
bit, I'd love to hear from you!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Back to working at the local Board of Elections, trying to save
democracy one voter at a time. Asking around to try and see if my
master plan is economically feasible. Trying to discover all that
Columbus has to offer.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Casually crushing political assumptions of all stripes in
conversation, remembering the names of actors and directors that
are on the tip of the tongue of a friend, and making cheesy
latch-hook rugs. Not so much with that last thing in recent years,
but that skill is always there, waiting to rear its tacky head.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
"Is he EVER going to talk?" Then, after I get to know somebody
through listening for an hour or so: "Is he ever going to shut up?"
Or maybe it's something horrible that people have been too nice to
point out to me for my entire life, I don't know.

Favorite authors include Hunter S. Thompson, Harlan Ellison, David
Sedaris, Philip Jose Farmer, Jim Thompson, Raymond Chandler,
Armistead Maupin, George R. R. Martin (recently anyway) and too
many others to mention. I also have way more independent/small
press graphic novels than you do. I'm more into DVD box sets than
movies these days, and favorites there include The Wire, Mad Men,
Breaking Bad, Buffy, Futurama, Mr. Show, Childrens Hospital, Louie,
The Larry Sanders Show, etc. Music: Magnetic Fields, John Coltrane,
Arcade Fire, and other hoity-toity bands. Food: whatever it is, I'm
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.

Huh, no plans yet really. What are you up to?

Is far too personal to put on a dating website with my picture and

You like comics with print runs right around 100, like getting to
know people just so you have an excuse to borrow their books, want
to hear stories of how elections actually work, really do want to
get to know one of those mythical "good guys" you keep hearing
about and aren't just saying that because everyone else says it,
and like good Mexican food. Bonus points if you know a good Mexican
