Would it be harmful or helpful to your opinion on me if I mentioned that I was updating my profile while watching Babylon 5 on DVD?
I am a 30 year old woman (who still isn't used to not calling herself a girl anymore) who is an interesting mix of spirituality and scifi, good friend and proud sister and auntie. I am enthusiastic about ethnic food, travel, learning, reading, fitness, photography and music. I have 6 tattoos with a plan for a 7th in the next couple of months, and one piercing with plans to expand that as well. I'm working full-time and in school at the University working towards a Linguistics degree, but don't let that fool you; I still have free time to meet people and socialize. It just comes at odd times.

What I’m doing with my life
Right now, I'm working weekend nights for the financial services
industry. It's an okay job which makes it possible to support my
hobbies and my schooling. I'm in Open Studies at the University,
for now, so I have a lighter courseload. While I'm still getting my
routine underway, I plan to make good use of my University gym pass
and Calgary Climbing Centre membership, go on the occasional
hike/snowshoe/bike ride, indulge my tastes in movies and TV and
work towards my goals.
I’m really good at
Photography, music (singing and piano, though I haven't done much
of either lately), PR (in the purely uneducated sense - when I like
something, you KNOW it)... I'm also a great friend and a wonderful
auntie.

Books: Cyberpunk a la William Gibson, Shari-ann Lewitt (if I'm
remembering the name correctly) and so forth. Anne McCaffrey, Piers
Anthony (Incarnations of Immortality series is AWESOME), George R.
R. Martin and Orson Scott Card, to name a few. Also... Gregory
Maguire is absolutely FANTASTIC.

The six things I could never do without
music, an Internet connection, the occasional baby giggle, my
camera, a way out of the city and ice cream.

Men, photography, languages, music, traveling.
On a typical Friday night I am
Working, sadly. Catch me on a Wednesday night... there's no
"typical" yet but I expect it to involve a movie, physical fitness
or studying.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I'm a romantic. I tend to be fiercely independent, so it doesn't
always show, but I love little gestures and kind words that make me
feel special. I also love being the giver of these kindnesses.

I have been in and out of a religious connection for most of my teenage and adult life but have finally made my disconnection from a religious life. I have every respect for everyone's beliefs, but I don't share them with those who call themselves Christian. I have tarot decks which I find to be more of a tool of the mind, and I revere nature's majesty, but that's about the extent of it.
