Oh wow... Books, I love a lot, but most of them are
science fiction
or fantasy, so I'll just list a few favorites.

Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Waterson (Comics, but essential
reading!)
The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams

Pullman

Curiously, the movies I really like are less often science fiction,
but they can still be represented by a short list of
favorites.

Food... don't really know what to say, I like most everything
that's not a vegetable. Perhaps a quote. "The Carnivore's Creed: 1.
Vegetables are what food eats. 2. Fruit are vegetables that fool
you by tasting good. 3. Fish are just fast moving vegetables. 4.
Mushrooms are what grows on vegetables when food's done with
them."
I actually like a fair amount of raw/fresh vegetables. Salads are
great, but once you cook a vegetable, my taste for it quickly
fades. For import tastes, I like chinese food, and greek gyros. One
also can't go too far wrong with variations on alfredo/chicken
pasta.
