My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Pablo Neruda once said that,“Laughter is the language of the soul,” and I feel that I've been living that idea for all of my life. Although I lead a busy life with medical school, creative writing, and spending time with my friends and family, I'm always about bringing some kind of quiet joy into the life of myself and those who are care for me. Most importantly though, I've learned how to laugh when things get hard; because if you can laugh in the face of adversity, then you're confident in yourself enough to overcome it.

I'm usually the first person in the room to make a funny face or tell a pointed joke, its an addiction honestly and thank god there's no support group for it.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm working toward finishing up medical school and I want to eventually works as a physician in either Ann Arbor, Chicago or California. During my spare time I like to pull off my best William Carlos William impression and work on my novel or revising my collections of poetry.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Spinning a situation in the most positive way possible. In my circle of friends, I'm know as the public relations expert because I once convinced my friends into helping me paint my fence because it would be fun. No wait, that was Tom Sawyer. In all honesty though, I'm forthright in my positivity and when things get hard, I'm the guy you call to help you see the best aspects of it.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My ethnicity. No one can tell what country I'm from. The most fun is hearing people try to figure it out. I've gotten Cuban, Basque, Chaldean and somehow Irish when I let my beard grow up. I'll admit, because I'm a candid person, I like having something that keeps people on their toes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

My two favorite books are Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy because he's able to capture every verisimilitude of life in an electrifying way, and Franny and Zooey by J.D. Salinger because it made me see the importance of being spiritual even if you're not 100% religious. Some other favorites are War and Peace, The Great Gatsby, The Cairo Trilogy, Paradise Lost, House of Leaves, In Search of Lost Time, and the poetry of Emily Dickinson.

Movies, I love almost every genre, but if I had to pick two it would be Lost in Translation and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind because they spotlight both the mundane and transcendent aspects of meeting a person for the first time. Other movies that I like are Three Colors: Blue, White, Red, Annie Hall, Hannah and Her Sisters, Moonrise Kingdom, The Godfather pt 1 and 2, The Room.

I'm also a uber fan of Arrested Development and could have an entire conversation quoting the show. You can also catch me smiling randomly about a Louis C.K. joke that I was remembering. I also like the Sopranos, Mad Men the Wire, Parks and Rec, and Louie, The Thick of It, The Office(U.S. and U.K.), Breaking Bad, Masters of Sex, House of Cards.

Music wise I like Radiohead, Animal Collective, Laura Nyro, Broken Social Scene, Sufjan Stevens, The Flaming Lips, Explosions in the Sky, Passion Pit, The National, Neutral Milk Hotel, Nick Drake, Panda Bear, Yoko Kanno. I also spend a lot time listening to movie soundtracks.

I'm learning how to cook this year, so whatever food I can make without it making me rush to the Emergency Room has my seal of approval.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) My red composition book.
2) The Purple Haze Bubble Tea from Bubble Island
3) Morning walks
4) My ukulele
5) Woody Allen Films
6) Sarcasm
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to make living near a cemetery sound romantic, rather than it truly being the first act of an ill-concieved George Romero like screenplay that I probably will be writing once I finish this sentence.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out with friends where we usually are at the bar, or watching a movie or getting lost in the oblivion of a concert However, I more enjoy the come down afterwards where we're just relaxing on the porch at 3 am and talking about the sheer poetry of Nicholas Cages performance in the movie "Face Off."
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That due to a miscommunication(i.e. they spoke fluent Spanish and I only knew how to gesticulate aggressively ) I ended up without a place to stay in Madrid for a full 24 hours. It started off as stressful, but I used it as an excuse to explore the city from one sun up to the next. I ended up sitting in front of the Prado at one in the morning and came to a few important epiphanies in my life. I now tell myself that if I was able to survive that, I can survive anything that living in the states can throw at me.

if you're looking for adventure. I'm at the point in my life where I want someone who isn't hesitant on trying something completely new and not feel worried about getting out of their comfort zone.

I click better with people who are as ambitious as I am and who believe that the first step to self actualization comes from exploring who you are as a person.
