How to describe myself... loyal, intelligent, honest, kind, helpful, courteous; maybe I'll stop before reciting the whole boy scout pledge =)

I like a quiet life, doing my work, spending time with friends, traveling is nice and would like to do more. I'm at a point where I've figured out what I want to do with my life, professionally, and now I'd like to find someone to share it with. Someone whom we can be there for each other whatever comes up. Someone to have and raise children with. Someone to collaborate with on whatever challenges arise in life. I will say I like to take things slow and really get to know someone, perhaps even start as friends.

I'm currently working on a PhD in Mathematics at UCR and working as a teaching assistant there. I have been teaching mathematics for over a decade now and intend to do so for the rest of my life. I find great joy in helping others learn things they find difficult.

To be honest, what I'm best at is figuring things out. I like to learn new things, solve puzzles, just generally try to understand the world and the things in it.

I'd have to guess that people first notice my height and my welcoming face.

Favorite books....
Hrmm this could be a really long list as I read a lot, but I'll try to narrow it down some. I enjoy sci-fi/fantasy novels, especially series that let me enjoy reading about a character for a long time. Some examples would be the Wheel of Time Series, the Dresden Files series, Expanded Universe Star Wars novels, Mistborn series (and anything Brandon Sanderson), Ender's Game and its series, Harry Potter, etc. I also like to read nonfiction novels, even textbooks when I find some topic that sounds interesting.

Favorite movies...
I like a lot of different types of movies, but let's see what I can list: (original) Star Wars Trilogy, The Matrix, Good Will Hunting, Gattaca, Fight Club, The Hangover (gotta be able to laugh), Red Dawn.

Favorite shows...
I watch mostly scifi shows with some comedy and others, for example The Big Bang Theory, Grimm, Being Human, Leverage, Psych, and for some shows I liked but are no longer around: Monk, Numb3rs, Jericho, and Stargate (all 3).

Favorite music...
Again I like a lot of different music, but I'd say my favorite bands are No Doubt, Linkin Park, and Muse. I'll also always have a special place for classical and jazz from my time in middle school/high school band.

everything =P Thinking is something I do well and so end up doing a lot of, things going on now, things coming up soon, things for my future... I try to analyze things before I make decisions so I can make better ones.

seeing a movie, a play, or whatever with friends, hanging out with family maybe catching up on a tv show we all like, or staying in and playing video games with friends who live all over the world that I've met online
