My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a major Japanophile, this means I love just about anything from Japan, especially anime and manga. I also really like videogames. I also read, and write on occasion, usually fantasy and sci-fi. I don't like to party all that much or go to clubs, I prefer staying in to staying out all night. I might seem shy at first (especially if you're cute) but I can warm up quickly. Also, I'm really bad at making profiles, so if you want to know anything more about me, just ask.

I am a HUGE gamer, and my favorite thing to do is to stay in and play games. It's surprising how hard it is to meet fellow gay gamers out there. Or, if it's not surprising, then do let me in on your secret, because I'm not having any luck! I'm also open to doing other things too. I'm not really the outdoorsy type, but I wouldn't say no to a nice stroll through the woods now and again, so long as the weather's right. But if I'm not playing video games or out with someone, I'm most likely to be found curled up with a good book. I'm not against T.V. but the dearth of good shows in recent years has really turned me off of it. Netflix has made up for some of that deficiency. I'm not a huge movie buff, though, so I'd rather watch a good series than a movie. There are always exceptions, though, especially if the movie is a marathon of the extended edition Lord of the Rings trilogy! Did I mention I'm a huge sci-fi/fantasy geek? Because I really really really am.

I also like talking about things like politics and feminist/queer theory.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm in the Library Sciences and English graduate programs at SUNY Albany, which means during the semester I'm usually pretty busy. But that doesn't mean I'm not open to romance! It just means that romance best not interfere with my academics, because these degrees are important to me. If you understand that then we'll get along just fine.

I'm also in the process of writing a sci-fi novel. And I will probably talk about it. A lot. Fair warning.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm really good at writing (or so everyone tells me), using chopsticks, turning innocent comments dirty, and being there for people who need it.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've been told that I have a very distinctive walk... other than that, I don't know. My fabulous long hair?

I like Tolkein, the Song of Ice and Fire series (if you know what this is I'll be your best friend), Chronicles of the Black Company, the Malazan Book of the Fallen series, The Kingkiller Chronicles, and anything else fantasy. I don't really watch movies all that much, but I love Star Wars and sci fi things, as well as action. Explosions rock. As for music, I like pop, things like Gwen Stefani, Lady Gaga, Lily Allen. Also almost anything if it's in a foreign language. I can't understand a word of it but it's pretty. As for food, pizza, pasta... lots of Italian things, and Asian food too.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A good book, my computer AND internet access, a T.V., videogames, my friends, and gays. I can't live without gays, it's impossible.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
what would work well for my story, why the hell grad school is so stressful, and when I'll ever actually have some free time.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
getting home from hanging/drinking with friends. I work on Saturdays so most of my Friday night involves sleeping, but Friday afternoons and evenings have worked out to be pretty fun lately.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm actually very shy at first and it takes a lot for me to actually message someone on here. If you message me with a good conversation starter, though, and you'll be hard pressed to shut me up!
You should message me if

you just want an interesting friend or boyfriend. Especially if you like video games, anime, or fantasy. It's so hard to find good people to discuss those things with. And if you can stand me going on about the story I'm writing. Dating a writer comes with a price, and this is part of it. Finally, if you think you can maintain an intelligent conversation. Video games and dirty jokes can only take you so far. I need intelligence more than anything else!
