My Self-Summary
As my nickname suggests, I'm yet another Alex. Not a particularly
original name, but I make up for my parent's lack of originality
with some of my own.
I was born in 1984 in St. Petersburg back when it was Leningrad during the happy "waiting in line for bread" commie days.
At the tender age of 6 we moved to Israel (Jerusalem to be exact) and that's where I lived until three years ago, when I moved to the south to study after the army.
Today I'm an open minded, curious, cynical and sarcastic engineering student at Ben-Gurion uni (where I also work as a programmer).
My eyes are brown, my humor black, my god is the flying spaghetti monster and my music is mostly electronic.

What I’m doing with my life
I currently study and work at the Ben-Gurion university, where I've
just finished the third out of four years of my engineering
degree.
Next year I'm also going to start my master's degree, which will add a fifth year.
When I'm not busy doing any of that serious stuff, I travel, hike, go to the gym (well, at least in theory) and work on all kinds of private projects that range from learning how to do abseiling (a.k.a snapling) to writing some interesting piece of code or even a geek haiku when I'm really bored.
Next year I'm also going to start my master's degree, which will add a fifth year.

The first things people usually notice about me
You'd have to ask them, but in my head it sounds like this:
Women: "wow, this guy is amazing - good looking, smart, funny and he able to move his ears. I want him right here and now"
Men: "wow, this guy is amazing - good looking, smart, funny and he able to move his ears. I want him right here and now, too bad he's not gay"
My experience shows that this is not always the case in real life, buy I'm not one to dismiss a good theory because of a few pesky facts :-P

My favorite books, movies, music, and food
My music is mostly electronic with tastes that range from psytrance to ambient depending on the
mood. You can sometimes find me listening to all kinds of other
types of music including rock, heavy metal (this is actually a
rather recent addition) or even Classical music.
In terms of movies I always enjoy a good comedy or thriller. The movies I enjoy the most are the ones that really manage to surprise me (not in a kitschy "the killer is the mailman" sort of way) or ones that make me think. Some examples are Pulp Fiction, Seven, Hot Fuzz, V for Vendetta, Euro Trip, Waiting and of course The spice girls movie (SpiCe GiRlS RulZzzz !!!!1111) ;)
