My self-summary
Just moved to Austin from Ohio... what's up, Texas!?

I'm an explorer, an adventurer, and a writer/dreamer. I love tattoos. I'm more open-minded than you can probably imagine. Japan is awesome, cosplay is even more awesome. I like to break into abandoned places whenever possible. I have an exit strategy for when the apocalypse comes. Sometimes I play video games. I'm sort of considering getting into burlesque.

Live your dreams, don't live your life. I don't wait around for anything.

I'm looking for new friends, and someday my future partner-in-crime/love interest. I like my romances to be something you could write a story about.
What I’m doing with my life
Writing, a lot. I got published for the first time last summer, with a repeat a few weeks after. I'm in the process of relocating to Austin to begin the next chapter in my life in the tech industry.
I’m really good at
I like to be good at the things I'm passionate about. And I'm passionate about a lot of things.

I'm also really good at wasting my entire day on Reddit. ಠ_ಠ
The first things people usually notice about me
Cave Johnson's voice following me around giving me life tips would be pretty hard to miss.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Maus, From Hell, Watchmen, The Sandman, Slaughterhouse-Five, Farenheit 451, American Gods, World War Z, The Will to Power, The Road, Blood Meridian, Animal Farm, 1984, The Zombie Survival Guide, The Sound and the Fury, Never Let Me Go... any of Pablo Neruda's poems and any of H.P. Lovecraft's short stories. The entire Xanth series by Piers Anthony. These are just my absolute favorites. I couldn't even begin to broaden it to include all of my tastes in general. Just assume I read a lot!

Video Games: In the rare instance I have free time and I'm not reading or writing or doing side projects, I'm doing this. I'll play almost everything and anything put out by Valve and Bethesda. Love RPGs like the Mass Effect series, Final Fantasy, etc. Really love MOBA style games since WCIII Dota map existed... moved onto League of Legends and then back to Dota 2 when it came out. Former WoW addict... two years clean and counting. Lost my taste for MMOs almost completely. Don't have much time for them nowadays anyway! I have a weakness for Sid Meier's Civilization games, and the Tomb Raider franchise. What can I say, I'm loyal to a fault. I'll pick up a lot of different games, if they're good. Not big on sports/fighting/racing/flight games. I WISH I could say I enjoyed fighting games, but I'm terrible at them. I like watching them, if that counts?

Movies: The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Star Wars (original trilogy), anything by Tarantino or Studio Ghibli. Anything by Kevin Smith (Dogma, Clerks, etc.) L.A. Confidential, all of Harry Potter, Inception. I am compelled to watch nearly every superhero movie, Marvel or D.C., but Hellboy ranks among my favorite, if you can call him a superhero (I do). I pretty much worship Guillermo del Toro... love Pan's Labyrinth, and I'm slightly embarrassed that I haven't seen Pacific Rim yet. Summer was too busy. Basically have a huge weakness for some of the movies from my childhood... including almost every Disney movie made in the late 80's and 90's, Iron Giant, Brave Little Toaster, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, All Dogs Go To Heaven... this list could go on and on.

Shows: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Community, Master Chef, the Walking Dead, Mad Men, Dexter, Arrested Development, Girls, Parks and Recreation, The Office. I'm also a big anime lover.. Full Metal Alchemist is my #1. I rarely keep up with TV unfortunately, so don't ask me if I've seen the latest episode of ____. I'M TOTALLY OBSESSED WITH HOUSE OF CARDS RIGHT NOW.

Music: Doctor P, Bassnectar, Excision, Zeds Dead, Nero, Deadmau5, Flux Pavilion, Datsik, Minus the Bear, Lana Del Rey, Florence + the Machine, Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Silversun Pickups, Rage Against the Machine, Mudvayne, Foo Fighters, Dethklok, Rammstein, Nine Inch Nails, The Postal Service, The Wallflowers, Rise Against, Apocalyptica, White Stripes, Bush, the Xx, Muse, the Offspring, Queen, Doctor P, Weezer... I'm sure I'm missing a few. I also listen to good movie soundtracks and classical music very often.

Food: All kinds. I love to cook and cook for others, I enjoy trying curious fusion combinations. Fresh is a must, healthy is preferable but I'm known to get down with a big greasy burger now and then. I will go to ridiculous lengths to satisfy a sushi or pho craving.
The six things I could never do without
A good hardcover journal to write my next story in.
Red Lobster cheddar biscuits
The Force
Hand-holding
A nice set of knives (for cooking... not re-enactments of Dexter)
Japan wackiness
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The same thing we think about every night, Pinky.
On a typical Friday night I am
Looking to get into some trouble.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I still lose my shit whenever I watch the Fox and the Hound. And that scene in Dumbo. Aaaaaand Grave of the Fireflies. Argh, the feels!
I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 23–35
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
Well, apparently I respond "very selectively" but don't let that scare you. You should just message me if you have something resembling a conversation handy and you'd like to meet a new friend. You shouldn't message me if you're just looking to hook up, or add me to your current relationship.
