My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hey, I'm Jordan!

I'm a musician and composer, and I just moved to New York to start a new chapter in my life and make a living doing what I love. I graduated from college with a degree in Jazz Studies, and after that have worked on cruise ships playing my saxophones and flute for about 2 and a half years. I've traveled half way around the world and loved it, but I'm ready to settle down a little and have time to find a long term, meaningful relationship. I consider myself a carefree person most times, but I like to think about deep things a lot too. It depends on my mood, but I'm often very jovial, and love to laugh. I am a Christian, and serious about my faith. I believe in not having sex until marriage, and need a partner who is willing to respect that. I'm intelligent, and definitely a nerd so I enjoy mental challenges, reading, and random facts like trivia. I also am aspiring to learn Japanese, and am currently using Rosetta Stone to do so, as I am very interested in Japanese culture. Though I don't enjoy working out or going to the gym, I do enjoy staying active and I stay in shape by doing things like riding bikes, swimming, and eating moderately healthy.

I am a very affectionate person; I appreciate physical expression of feelings (hugging, being comfortable with touching, kissing, holding hands, etc). It's how I show love, and how I feel most appreciated. This is also why I love animals (all kinds, dogs, cats, lizards, birds, etc). They can be great sources of love and good company, and I hope you enjoy animals too, because I like pets!

As far as the reasons why I haven't found love yet, I'm VERY picky with women. I have high standards, and I don't want to settle for someone. That's not fair to me or her. So just to be upfront about my standards, I'm looking for a girl that is:
Christian
Virgin (I'm saving myself until marriage, and looking for someone who is doing the same)
In-shape/Slender (sorry, I'm not attracted to overweight people)
Likes snuggling/physical contact
Serious about long term relationships

Also, I don't like double standards and hypocritical behavior, so you can be sure that every thing I'm looking for in a woman, I hold myself to the same standards. :)

There's other things I'd love to say, but let's get to know each other first! :)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I just moved to New York. As a musician, I should have MUCH better job opportunities up here, and the culture of the city is great! :) The last few years, I've been performing music on cruise ships, but now that I have moved here I will be looking for local work in the area.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Music
Videogames
Reading
New Challenges
Having fun
Staying Positive
I'll add more as I think of them. :)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I smile and laugh a lot, and have a very positive, laid-back personality.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: His Dark Materials trilogy (Philip Pullman) The Inheritance Cycle (Christopher Paolini), pretty much anything by C.S. Lewis (Screwtape Letters, Mere Christianity, The Chronicles of Narnia, Out of the Silent Planet, Perelandra, etc.) The Song of Ice and Fire (George R. R. Martin), Harry Potter Series (J.K. Rowling), The Mistborn Trilogy (Brandon Sanderson), The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings Trilogy (J.R.R. Tolkein), Orion (Ben Bova), Ender's Game (Orson Scott Card). Some Shakespeare (Othello, Romeo & Juliet, Hamlet), Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series along with the Kane Chronicles (Rick Riordan), The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series (Michael Scott), The Circle Trilogy (Ted Dekker). I could go on, seriously, if you can't tell I LOVE reading. LOL. But generally I tend to enjoy Sci-Fi and/or Fantasy books the most. :)

Also, I love to read manga. I would list my favorites of those too, but I think that would make this long section even longer, lol. So if you really want to know that bad, just ask, and I can tell you...

Movies/Shows: There are a lot of great movies. But some of my all time favorites have come from a great anime director Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away, The Cat's Return, Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke, etc.). Other great movies that I can think of off of the top of my head are Inception, pretty much any Pixar movie (seriously, try and think of a Pixar movie that wasn't good. You can't. lol), District 9, The Hangover... I can't think of anymore right now, but I know there are plenty I'm forgetting, lol. As far as TV shows, I don't really watch a lot of TV, but the last few shows that I REALLY enjoyed are Avatar: The Last Airbender (the tv series, not that godawful movie version), Mythbusters, and the mini series Planet Earth that Discovery Channel did a little while ago.

Food: Most bread/bread products, pastas, cereals, baked goods, etc. I love ramen, cereal, pasta, and fruits.

Music: Jazz (if you didn't figure that out already), Classical, Videogame and Movie soundtracks/scores, Japanese music (traditional and contemporary), honestly a bit of everything. The only genres I tend to dislike are Rap, and Contemporary R&B. Though I enjoy some of the rhythms and musical aspects of the genres, the messages/subjects of many of these songs cause me to loose respect for otherwise promising musical talent. And specifically with Rap, I find many songs musically lackluster; they provide very little musical creativity or variety, have atrocious singers/rappers, etc.

Anyways, as I did graduate with a degree in Jazz Studies, I could probably talk to you all day about different musical styles and concepts, so I'd better stop here for now. lol
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
God
Laughter
Affection (I love to snuggle and hug, sue me. lol)
Music
Someone with whom to share life's joys. (Friends, Family, etc.)
The Internet. lol
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Things normal people don't think about. LOL
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either chilling out at home playing videogames, hanging out with friends, or playing Jazz on my saxophone for a local restaurant or other venue. :)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Why don't you ask me a question about anything and I'll answer honestly? :) I don't have too much that I keep secret, so ask whatever you want, no matter how private/embarrassing.
