My name is Ian and I am all over the place. Staying in Copenhagen just now.
I'm from Hamburg originally and will return someday.
I travel a whole lot, I don't define myself by any nationality. But I have a mixed background with some Canadian and various Scandinavian family.
I spend too much time on the internet but also love to go for walks in cities and out in the nature. I sail and surf and ski but I'm not super sporty. I have an unhealthy fascination with Russia. I don't mind being on my own, I actually love travelling by myself because I can just wander around and let things unfold without having to worry about someone else. I've also gotten pretty good at just walking up to people to chat, it's always fun and most people appreciate it.
I sometimes talk to much, sometimes I'm weirdly taciturn. It can be disconcerting. I love politics and history and will happily argue about it. I don't really want to put myself on a political spectrum and I try hard to understand different perspectives, even if they are abhorrent to me.
I'm also pretty into visual arts and ballet, though only as a spectator.
Ich spreche auch Deutsch!
Watching a lot of Dr Who as well.
Waiting for summer so I can go kite surfing! I got a board in the fall and I can't wait!
If I try to deflect the question "where do you come from" people just get more curious and I have to answer all their questions. I should just get a business card with my history on it.
Shows: GoT, Archer, MLP. Dr Who!
Food: Fresh fish, Stirfry, anything with potatoes.
Games: CK2, AoE2, Skyrim. Don't play that much. My computer isn't very good. I'd like to try ARMA 3.
I like Anita Sarkeesian and Zoe Quinn if those names mean anything to you.
Should I bake cookies today?
Can I take a few days off and fly somewhere?
Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?
Recently feminism. And the disturbing rise of the far right in Europe.
No racists, homophobes or other bigots please. If you vote DF, AfD, SD or something like that, don't bother.
