I am sweet, down-to-earth, and charming.
My Self-Summary
"Intimate relationship can be an amazing source of meaning and
depth and a place where one can learn to practice kindness to self
and other, but it is an unintelligent view to use it as a place to
seek happiness" - Bruce Tift
I live and work in Boulder. I work on a social networking website.
I enjoy a variety of activities, both indoor and outdoor, such as
watching
movies and
hiking.
I've never read a romance novel, but one of the members on the
website I work for is a novelist who writes them. She says she's
been so inspired by me that the novel she is currently writing
stars me as the hero. Yep, it's true. Now when people compliment
me, I get to reply with, "...and that's why they write novels about
me! :-)"
People tell me I'm funny. I would tend to agree with those people.
I mean, if I can't make you laugh, I'll buy you a coke. I don't
drink coke , but you're welcome to. I'm also deep, passionate,
kind, "enlightened," warm, authentic, and other good things. But
far from perfect ;-) I'm mostly vegetarian (if you know what I
mean; if not, I can tell you what I mean... just ask).
Hey, did you know Boulder was just ranked 2nd in the top 10 hottest
guy cities?
http://www.totalbeauty.com/content/gallery/p-hot-guy-cities On a
related note, one of my female friends just told me I'm one of the
5 hottest guys in Boulder.
I like to toot my own horn by using other people's words. I AM
supposed to be tooting my own horn in this part, right??
What I’m doing with my life
I'm enjoying my life! I try to bring awareness and Love into each
moment. Hopefully, I can spread that around. I like to
bike (but not hard core) in
the summer times. I work out on a regular basis, and I LOVE playing
ultimate
frisbee when the weather is right and my friends are not being
lame. They are lame way too much :( That about sums up what I'm
doing with my life right now. I'm also divorced, and now that I am,
I'd love to start
traveling the globe soon. Gotta hit
Europe, South Africa, South America, and some Asian countries. That
would be cool :) You agree. You know you do.
I’m really good at
making people (especially myself) laugh. I'm also pretty decent at
stuff that involves an adequate level of intelligence, and I enjoy
high-level, philosophical conversations. Sometimes, I like
debating/conversing about theoretical
physics and/or anything else that is
interesting.
The first things people usually notice about me
My height (I'm tall). Or my eyes. Or my hair. I'm not sure,
exactly, but that's probably what I'd notice if I were noticing me.
Maybe you'll notice something else, in which case you can tell me,
and I can add it here. Oh, but if you notice that I'm a royal dork,
maybe just don't mention it; I really don't want to have to add
that to this profile. I mean, who's gonna date a royal dork? Well,
I guess it's better than a peasant dork. Hmmm.... I suppose if
you're a royal dorkette, you can think I'm a royal dork. In that
case, if you are to ever use my toilet, just remember to royal
flush! Aaahahahaha. (I told you I'm good at making myself laugh)
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: Fiction or Nonfiction.
If fiction, it should just be entertaining. I love to laugh, so an
author who can throw words together in an unusual or hilarious way
always holds my attention.
If Nonfiction, I want to read about something that will blow my
mind. How does the way in which we see the world reconcile with the
common notion among theoretical physicists that the multi-verse is
made up of 11 dimensions? I want to know!
Movies: I tend to choose by actor/actress. I love Will Smith, Adam
Sandler, and Jack Black. My current favorite movie is Kung Fu
Panda. I'm not too picky, though, when it comes to movies.
Music: Stuart Davis, Kan'nal, AAA (you may not have heard of these
artists, but they kick ass!), Spearhead, and most of what they play
on 93.3, here in the Boulder/Denver area. I grew up with Green Day,
Sound Garden, Nirvana, Sublime, 311, and the like. The newer,
younger alternative is pretty good, too.
Food: Ethiopian, Asian, Indian, Mexican, my own creations... pretty
much anything, though (like I said above) mainly vegetarian dishes.
The six things I could never do without
Tasty Food - My favorite is probably Ethopian, but I couldn't eat
it every day. I love it, though! I like all variety of other foods,
too.
A Comfy Bed - I have a sleep number; it's nice :)
Conversation - I enjoy short, light-hearted conversations, but I
also love long, deep, heartfelt ones.
Warm Sunshine - It's how I make my vitamin D.
Entertainment - In the right quantities, can have such a cathartic
effect, no?
HUGS!!! - I would wrap my arms around the entire planet and just
squeeeze, if I could.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I try not to think too much. But that's not easy. So, I like to
think about how I can do my part to save the planet.
On a typical Friday night I am
out and about, with friends. Maybe at a bar. Or chillaxing at home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I'm a beer snob. I once ordered a pitcher of PBR and hated it so
much that I gave it away to some strangers. They were happy. I was
happy for them but confused that anyone would pay to drink such
crap. The fact that that beer recipe won a blue ribbon at some
point in history taints all other blue ribbon winning foods,
beverages, and events, in the history of the entire ribbon-giving
tradition. "Oh, you say your aunt won a blue ribbon at the State
Fair for her chilli recipe? Well, does her chilli taste like stale,
carbonated water that someone accidentally spilled some beer into?
Because that's what PBR tastes like!" I'm sorry, I don't mean to
make fun of your aunt. Blame Pabst. No. Blame the judges who ruined
blue ribbons for the rest of eternity.
Is that private enough? How about this? My pupils don't
dilate.
BTW, that whole beer-snobbery thing... I don't take it too
seriously. I just enjoy a good brewsky every now and then.
You should message me if
You have high self esteem and consider yourself to be attractive.
You read through my profile and thought, "I like the cut of this
guy's jib!" You like to laugh. You eventually want a long-term,
fulfilling relationship, or you just want a totally kick-ass
friend, or maybe both? Or if you just feel like messaging someone.
If your message makes me laugh, cry, say "awwwww", or interests me
in some way, I'll probably respond. But don't try TOO hard... I
don't go off of first impressions anyway. I've been completely
wrong about my first impression too many times to do that. I guess
if I find you attractive and like your profile, I'll probably make
an effort to get to know you. Why? Because you're worth it!
