My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hey there! If you have no time to peruse my lengthy profile check out this ≡ridiculous, oversimplified version≡ Also, for all you mobile-only users, there are a lot of ≡links≡ to rad stuff I threw in here, plus a bunch of extra photos that you're totally missing out on. So, get on that.

Dean is an American designer and world-wide adventurer.

Blinded from years of study and rubbing elbows with unapt women, it was finally revealed to Dean that all of his friends had been kidnapped!

These perpetrators, known to some as "spouses", shone a harsh light on Dean's derelict quest for love. Undermanned, in search of his own kidnapper, Dean set out on his quest with high hopes!

RANDOMNESS (not in 3rd person)
Small talk drives me nuts. I'd rather have interesting conversations...or just find the closest window to jump out of.

There's just not enough time in a day to learn all the things that I want to learn, create all the things I want to make, and do all the things that I want to do. I am passionately curious. If I could, I would have a different job every month.

I like to challenge people's ideas. Mostly because they're wrong. But also because I think how someone defends their beliefs says a lot.

I'm constantly trying to find the balance between wanting to improve myself and being content with who I am in the moment. All the while appreciating the now and never taking anything too seriously.

I'm not a sports watching guy. I would rather go outside and burn some of my own calories. Live sport events are somewhat more tolerable, but still super low on my amazing list of super fun shit to do with the rest of my life. Except hockey. I'm always up to grab my scarf and head down to see a live ice hockey game.

I have the memory of a concussed goldfish. It's totally endearing.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I landed a full-time gig at Oakley playing in Photoshop. It's kind of rad. My workplace filled with brilliant, wonderful people that I don't want to strangle on a daily basis.

Also, for the last 5 years I have enjoyed bossing myself around at my own ≡design company≡, creating posters and marketing material for independent filmmakers who are too lazy to do it themselves.

Each year I challenge myself with a single year-long project in order to pretentiously brag about for years after.

Once I volunteered 12 different places in 12 months. The most rewarding and impactful being Comfort Zone Camp where I am mentor and friend to children who have experienced the death of a parent or sibling. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

Another time I created something new every week and posted it up online for everyone to praise and ridicule. It's an affirmation to my creed -- always be creating. Check it out ≡here≡.

This year I created/hosting a book club in order to utilize the power of peer-pressure to start reading all the books I've been collecting.

I'm also
* Writing a book. Not sure what it's about. Or if it's non-fiction or not.

I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I am amazingly fantastic at being interested in everything. The world is fascinating and full of super interesting people, places and things. I totally believe in the adage: "If you're bored, then you're boring."

I also make a mean Old Fashioned.

That my OkCupid profile is too long. And that I like listing things with asterisks. You'll see.

I like an eclectic jumbblness of musical splendor. However, to get you in some frame of reference, Dark Was The Night was the best album I listen to last year, go ahead listen to this and tell me it isn't a ≡hauntingly beautiful song≡.

And here is a link to ≡an amazing love song≡.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My opinions about everything are always in flux, always susceptible to new information. I appreciate people who challenge my views, it makes me dig deeper for better answers. The key is and will always be open-minded discussions, disseminating information, and filtering out the bullshit.

It's ≡bigger≡ than you think. It's bigger than I can think.

Nutrition. GMOs. Environmental impacts. Animal cruelty.
And what to grow next. And what new recipe I'm cooking tonight.

How I can make this a better world for everyone here now and for those that will come after I'm gone.

Why we do the things we do.
Why things are the way they are.

I greatly enjoy the pursuit of knowledge.
And the betterment that follows.

Specifically, ≡explaining my answers≡ to clarify poorly stated questions.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?

Unless it's the first Friday of the month, then I'm most likely at Fullerton's art walk. Come join me!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I tragically have never seen Pearl Jam in concert or learned to play chess. Two things that need to be remedied immediately.

Also, I don't make over a million dollars, my apologies to all the diggers out there.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If you're someone who encompasses a passion that can overtake you, who revels in the spontaneous beauty of life and also inhabits an insatiable need to fill your mind, if you understand that a scientific theory is essentially fact, if you grow your own food, have hipster tendencies, can talk in fake accents, read for fun, are an egalitarian, you're ≡unique≡, you occasionally skip while walking down the street, play on playgrounds, you read xkcd, you'll break into dance when you're overcome, if you are a fan of Carl Sagan & Noam Chomsky, if ≡this≡ resonates with you or if ≡this≡ excites you.

If you have no appreciation for art, lost the ability to laugh after falling off the monkey bars, believe in supernatural beings, you mentioned football in your profile, poor grammar/spelling mean nothing to you, complained about writing a self-summary, need me to complete you or if you want to be worshiped.

There are so many of you, so much beauty, so much passion, so much...insanity. And I alone am supposed to find the one, the you, that embodies the complement to everything I am?

This is a delicate dance, please do not wait for me to stumble upon your amazingness. Be daring, shoot me a message or simply a hello and I will find you amongst this chaos. Not to mention whenever I log in and my message icon is pink ≡this is my reaction≡. But if I don't reply, it doesn't mean I don't think you're amazing, it just means I don't think we'd be amazing for whatever reason.
