My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a rather rad young man who likes a lot of things. Here are a series of statements about me:

I will probably say something unintentionally awkward in a remarkably short period of time. I have a dry sense of humor and general outlook on life that are heavily influenced by a steady diet of Mystery Science Theater episodes watched during my formative years, and I feel like that's a pretty great thing. I think e-readers take away some of the magic of reading. I don't capitalize my I's in casual correspondence unless they're at the start of a sentence. If I had more money and space I would start a vinyl collection, not because I necessarily think vinyl sounds better but because I think it would just be a fun thing to do.

I have no idea what I want to do with my life and I think that's okay. But I would like to get that figured out pretty soon.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am currently working with developmentally disabled adults at a sheltered vocational center. It is as exciting, rewarding, blahblahblah as you're likely thinking. It is also exactly as frustrating as you're likely imagining.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Things that are not filling out surveys about myself in which I feel super pressured to impress people. I'm really bad at that thing.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That is an excellent question! I would like to know this too, survey question I am apparently now speaking with.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I like all of these things. A lot, actually. Picking a favorite is not an easy task, and I generally like most anything regardless of genre or type so long as it's just good! Specifically, though:

I'm a fan of TV shows that are aggressively weird (30 Rock, Parks & Rec, Community, Arrested Development, Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23, etc). My movie tastes are all over the place.

As far as music goes, I enjoy indie bands that I still wouldn't have been super cool knowing about even a decade ago (Pavement, Archers of Loaf, Silver Jews, Fugazi, and so forth). Lately I've been spending quite a bit of time listening to bands/artists with female vocalists like Laura Stevenson, Janelle Monae, and Lemuria. That being said my favorite musician is Jeff Rosenstock, who used to have a band called Bomb the Music Industry! of which i am kiiind of a superfan.

I enjoy books that allow my id to vicariously act out or indulge the neurotic parts of my brain. There are way too many for me to list, so you can go here to see how I feel about various books if you're interested:

I frequently play video games and especially enjoy those that I can play with my friends. No, I'll never try to have a conversation with you about them unless you initiate it and no, I will never blow you off to play a game. It's just a fun way to keep in touch with old friends i can't physically hang out with any more.

I also like burgers and tacos. I like those a whole bunch.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Food, water, sleep, oxygen, and two other equally clever and cheeky responses. Let's say cute baby animal youtube videos and count it as both of the remaining things.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
An equal chance of many different things. Drinking drinks with people, going to a show, being a bum and staying in to watch netflix/read/play a game, or being talked into some other kind of an adventure by my friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I wish I had super powers, but i'm not sure which. Sometimes I think about this.

Arguably more embarrassing: I would keep watching New Girl even if it was not a legitimately good show simply because I think Nick Miller and I would be best friends.

You don't define yourself by the things that you hate.

Spending an evening at a bar while having drinks and reading books appeals to you just as much as doing something more adventurous. You realize the Myers-Briggs is about as useful as a horoscope for determining your personality. You like the things I've said on my profile. You feel like it. I don't know, I'm not your boss.
