Back from GenCon

So, I got back from GenCon a couple of weeks ago. Returning to checking my e-mail and my messages again.

Also, getting back to work, falling back into the usual schedule. I think I have to do something new to break up the grind. Any ideas what?

Being ignored

I'm not really sure I understand the need to ignore people and just not respond. To me that's the pinnacle of rudeness. I understand being busy and missing something now and then.

However, I don't understand just not answering someone on purpose. If someone e-mails me I don't know, I generally reply to them, even if I have no idea who they are. They took the time to e-mail me, they deserve a response of some sort. Even if the response is "Sorry, I don't think I'd get along with you." I suppose if someone was really rude I wouldn't reply.

Still, even worse I think is just suddenly ignoring someone you already know. You go out with someone a couple of times then suddenly they stop answering your calls, ignore your e-mails and don't return your messages.

I just think it's stupid that we have to resort to such tactics. Doesn't anyone have enough confidence to be able to say "Hey, I didn't really have any fun on our dates, I don't think I'd like to go on another one."

I even had one person one day say "I have nothing to say to you". Then just stopped talking to me, even in person (since I work across the road from her work). She just ignores everything I say to her without even answering. I still have no idea what I said or did.

I can safely say that I will answer you if you message me, even if it is just to ask a pointless question.

I am away to Fargo

That's right, I'm on my way to Fargo, ND this weekend to play some D&D with our friends south of here.

Should be fun. All weekend, as little sleep as possible killing enemies, taking their stuff and gaining some XP.

Some things I need to get off my chest

Recently, due to looking through profiles here and elsewhere on the internet, I've become very frustrated that it seems that nearly every woman I've ever met who likes the same things I do is completely insane.

I may like playing role playing games, but that doesn't mean that I now believe that all trees in real life have their own spirits or that if I say the right words I can get someone to fall in love with me or wake up in the middle of the night and get on MSN Messenger.

I just want to comment that I don't believe that some contrived coinicence is fate at work. I believe that fate is a fun concept that can make you feel better about something because you can blame all the bad things that happen to you on something else without taking responsibility.

I don't want to watch you drop into a massive depression and cry for hours each day because I decided to do something without you. I also don't want to have you cancel plans with me every weekend because your friends are more important than I am.
