My self-summary
I'm a nerd who's breaking out of his shell. Unfortunately, I've still got a lot of homebody habits. For starters, I was born and raised in Pennsylvania, about an hour outside of Pittsburgh(Just south of Punxatawney, to be specific). I'm also a horrible "mouse potato"(like a couch potato, but with a computer instead of a TV), spending way too much time on the web and playing computer games, like Oblivion, Morrowind, Knights of the Old Republic(I and II) and Command & Conquer. I moved to Virginia when I was nineteen, after my father and I had a falling out(which has since been repaired), moving in with my mom(my parents have been divorced since I was three). I have a quirky sense of humor, and love stuff like Mystery Science Theater 3000, MAD Magazine, and Weird Al. I love pets(well, except for spiders, scorpions, millipedes, etc; everything else is cool), and have two dogs(well, they're my mom's dogs technically), a beagle-basset mix and a mystery mutt - the vet originally told us that she was beagle-Chihuahua, but the current theory is that she's a Corgi/Border Collie mix - along with two cats, a fat black tom and a cute little calico, along with several caged pets. I'm one of those weird extroverted introverts - someone who enjoys to socialize but has to recharge afterword. Despite my overcharged sex drive, I'm also a hopeless romantic. And I really enjoy nature and long road trips, even though I haven't had a proper adventure in a long time, largely because I do not drive, for several reasons.

I'm an eclectic Pagan with Wiccan leanings, though I'm still working some things out. Politically, I'm pretty far left ... very feminist. Oh, and I'm an Aspie.

I am generous, laid-back, and multi-faceted

What I’m doing with my life
I'm kinda wavering and re-thinking my life ... again. I'm working on a book of poetry, taking artistic photos, and taking the occasional class. Trying to get myself back off the ground and get out of this one-horse town. Oh, and re-connecting with my dad.

I’m really good at
I'm a good writer/poet, pretty good with computers(not up to programming, but not a n00b either), and I'm a damn good photographer. On top of all that, I'm pretty much a jack of all trades, capable of succeeding at most anything I apply myself at.

You can see my writing and photos at my DeviantArt page.

The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my blond hair - I used to be called "Bleach boy" in middle school, but it's 100% natural. Past that, I haven't a clue.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
A. I read a LOT of Fantasy and Sci-Fi, although I'll read anything. Favorites include Star Wars novels(especially the Bantam-era ones of the nineties), anything by Anne McCaffrey and Larry Niven, Lord of the Rings. Asimov's Foundation series, Eragon, His Majesty's Dragon, The Chronicles of Narnia, Dune, and To Kill A Mockingbird. I'm currently reading a lot of nonfiction as well, covering everything from Neopaganism to Feminism to random science and history stuff.

B. My all-time favorites are Star Wars movies (The Original Trilogy more than the Prequels). I also love most of the original series Star Trek films(ST:V and ST:TMP sucked, pure and simple and the Next-Gen ones were kinda ... well ... meh), Lord of the Rings (Fellowship being the best of the three), the Harry Potter films, The Matrix (Reloaded and Revolution were basically fight scenes connected by a dumpster-grade plot, but the first one was pretty good), 300(I know, it royally sucked from an artistic standpoint, but it's worlds better than most war movies), and I still have a taste for Westerns from when I was a kid, though I'm kinda embarrassed about that. The Princess Bride is awesome, plus I LOVE Monty Python's Holy Grail. Past that, I enjoy a wide variety of films, though not so much on the newer comedies.

C. I'll listen to anything except rap. Some favorite singers/groups are Celine Dion], Madonna, Kelly Clarkson, Manowar, Within Temptation, Nightwish Kenny Chesney, Garth Brooks, Lila McCann, and Bryan Adams. As for genres, it's pretty eclectic: various forms of metal(particularly epic and Viking metal), goth, Country(which is a guilty pleasure of mine - I'm kinda ashamed of liking it, and only got into it because it pissed my dad off), classical, soundtrack, Celtic, and older pop(mid-nineties and before, especially eighties).

D. Pizza(bacon and pepperoni are my fave toppings), burgers, chicken, cheese-steaks, french fries(esp. dipped in gravy), and almost any sort of roast.

The six things I could never do without
1. Geeky books, I'm so much of a sci-fi/fantasy nerd it hurts.

2. My computers. That's right, I now have two. My laptop and a custom desktop I built.

3. Music ... gotta have it. I have like 50 gigs of MP3's on my computers.

4. A bit of peace and quiet every now and then - I enjoy my social life(mostly), but I need to balance it with down time to recharge.

5. At least one person who likes me for who I am - this includes friends, family, a S/O, etc.

6. ummm ... basic necessities of life ... I'm not that needy.

On a typical Friday night I am
Either at home playing on my comp, or hanging around somewhere. Lynchburg is a really boring place.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
That I still live with my mom at 25 and am out of work(still writing) ... most definitely not by choice. I'm beginning to wonder if I might be happier on the streets. That and for a couple years, I was both a Christian and a Republican. I strongly believe that the former is the karmic after-effect of the latter.

I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 20-30
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, long-distance penpals, casual sex
You should message me if
You think I might be fun or interesting. I'm willing to make friends with anyone, particularly people who are eclectic and open-minded.

That said, if you want to *DATE* me, I'm after a gal who is nerdy, strong-willed, open-minded, creative, intelligent, and at least a bit tom-boyish. Physically, I'm attracted to curvier women, but I put far greater emphasis on intellectual and interpersonal compatibility.

Oh, and if you're after a "Head of house" or "Breadwinner", you won't find it here. I'm pretty much the antithesis of the type.
