I have 2 jobs: a regular 1 and a creative 1, and I love them both.
But even though I like what I do, I don't feel my paying jobs define me... I work to make money so I can live the life I want to live. Which for me is about growth, learning and understanding myself and the relationships in my life, and being independent. And having fun!

- being serious without taking myself (or anything else) too seriously.
- cooking.
- always seeing the 'other side' of things... which can be quite exhausting.
- planning trips and finding the best restaurants anywhere.
- doing nothing.

I've been descried as warm, funny, open minded and sweet, as well as arrogant, stubborn, stern and unkind. So I guess you would have to get to know me to decide what you think....

Music: Americana, old vocal jazz, opera.
Books: I love books that make me want to read more by the same author. Examples: D.H. Lawrence, Jane Austen, Paul Auster, Chaim Potok, Margaret Atwood, Antonia White, Couperus, Reve, Carry van Bruggen.
Food: I love good food, period.

I can do without most things. But life would become pretty miserable without a good night's sleep, morning coffee, afternoon drinks, and a good dinner.
To function and to be able to stay nice to people, I need to spend time alone - a lot of it. I love being by myself, going to movies on my own, and going out to bars or dinner on my own.
That said, I love being with friends and meeting new people. I am absolutely incapable of small talk though.... good conversation, about real things, is what I need from social interaction.

I also spend a lot of time thinking about relationships and the many forms of love. Which is why, even with a husband and other loves, I'm still hanging around on OKCupid... because even though it may seem like my dance card is pretty full, to me being poly means I'm always open to new possibilities and new connections. They don't have to end in the cliche relationship - I want to meet people who like to challenge the cliches and who want to push their boundaries when it comes to love.

you live somewhere that doesn't make it too difficult to meet in person. Because even though I'm a writer, I don't believe in relationships that are built solely on written communication.
and oh yeah, don't bother messaging me if you have a partner who doesn't know you're here. I don't judge, and everybody can live their life the way they want to, but secrets are not very compatible with the way I'm living mine.
