My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a nerd. No really. I am a huge nerd. I am the kind of person who will ditch you for Dungeons and Dragons, the kind of person who knows more about Classic Literature than you ever wanted to know. The kind of person who cosplays and drags her friends to conventions and spends more time on Tumblr than most people spend with their families. I'm a freelance writer (and yes I have a day job on top of that) and a gamer geek (I like early Silent Hill, most Final Fantasy 7 era games and a lot of weird stuff most people don't bother with.) who probably has delusions of grandeur. But at least I admit to my horribly pretentious taste in music, film, books and television. Or I admit when it's awful. Depends on the day of the week.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a freelance writer and a layout designer for a bunch of newspapers. One day I'll get myself back overseas to teach, but that day is not today. Tomorrow doesn't look good either.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Annoying my cat (His name is Mycroft), writing, reading too many books, video games, cosplay, baking, and talking too much. I'm also good at retaining odd pieces of trivia, imitating a Dalek, puzzle games, and playing a rogue in either D&D 3.5 or Pathfinder.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My outfits, usually. They're a little odd and a little stylish, but I like to think I know how to dress myself on a Goodwill budget. I've been told I have pretty eyes, and some days I'll agree.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: The Picture of Dorian Grey (If I could grow up to be Oscar Wilde, life would be complete). American Gods (Neil Gaiman. But I like pretty much everything he has ever written.) The Complete Sherlock Holmes. Transmetropolitan, and Planetary (Warren Ellis). Invisible Monsters (Chuck Palahniuk). Never Let me Go (Kazuo Ishuguro).

Movies: Stranger Than Fiction, Moulin Rouge, Battle Royale, Tokyo Godfathers, MirrorMask, In Bruges and Seven Psychopaths. And that is far from a complete list.

Shows: Umm... Television or theater? Theater is Les Miserables, Wicked, and Rent. Television is Sherlock, Doctor Who, Fringe, Firefly, and No Reservations.

Music: I have either the taste in music of a pretentious indie hipster kid or a fifteen year old girl circa 2006. My iPod has everything from Joy Division to showtunes to The Mountain Goats. Right now I am obsessed with We Were Promised Jetpacks.

Food: Curry?
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My laptop.
Some way to play video games.
A decent book.
The ability to travel.
Intellectual stimulation.
Sherlock Holmes. (The character, in general, not just the newer adaptations.)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What I am doing with my life. The number 42. My cosplay projects. What would happen if every fictional character named Alucard were suddenly trapped in a room together. Books I am reading and books I want to write. Food. Hell if I know, sometimes I have a hard time following my own thoughts.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either swing dancing, annoying my cat, or playing video games.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Sometimes I am afraid my life is going nowhere.

You don't mind that on Sunday afternoons D&D takes priority.
