[Too Long Didn't Read version: I'd like to think a pretty interesting guy]

Let's have a go at the basics. I'm in my final year of school, aspiring to study Medicine at University. I'm a total, unashamed nerd and I love science and music equally. I'm on the internet a lot, too (I have a blog at hellodoctorbuddha.tumblr.com).
I no longer game since my computer is dying slowly, but I have a thing for Japanese pop-culture (manga, J-pop etc).
I sing in a chapel choir but I'm not Christian and while I identify as Buddhist that has its moments too. I have a bit more French in me than the average Brit.

I'm a pretty mature guy (most of the time). I'm told I have quite an intellectual sense of humour, although there's definitely a bit of a kid in there too. I'd like to think I'm pretty good at the sardonic comeback, although of course that's far easier from behind a computer screen, so I'm a lot less articulate in real life. I enjoy the company of others as much as the next guy, but sometimes it's nice to just stop and enjoy the silence on your own.

As mentioned, I'm currently in my final year of Sixth Form (school, not college), waiting for my final exams and subsequently my grades to see if I'm worthy of a place at Medical School. The plan is changing such that I'm no longer deferring, but should enter in September 2013

Argh, where to begin??

Books: Anything by Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Margaret Atwood or David Mitchell (the author not the comedian); the Tales of the Otori by Lian Hearn, the Black Magician series by Trudi Canavan, Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. There are others I'm sure. I like my fantasy/sci-fi original and well-written.

Movies: I like a good sci-fi, junk movies are fine if I turn my brain off. I loved Inception, Anchorman, and the old Disney classics. Studio Ghibli is my baby.

Shows: Dunno, I don't really watch TV.. I loved BBC Sherlock though.

Music: EVERYTHING. Except trashy RnB or screamy metal. Particularly love Bloc Party, Bon Iver, The Good Natured, TEED, Florence + The Machine, Speech Debelle.

Food: Most things. I like vegetarian stuff a lot, but I like pork and poultry too much to go full on veggie. Japanese cuisine is great, as is Italian. I dislike fish greatly.
