I am deep, risible, and INTP.

My Self-Summary

Those who know me well describe me as an intelligent, funny person. Since my childhood I've loved learning about random facts and things. Subjects such as history, geography, literature, philosophy, psychology, or any other humanities related thing are my specialty. I really like most rock music and I tend to watch a lot of movies. I'm not the best at making friends and socializing. I tend to be somewhat awkward and nervous in the company of those I don't know well, but after I get to know someone then I can be as extroverted and jolly as a druken Saint Nick. I've a rather abundant, dry sense of humor that I make good use of. I can find humor in nearly any situation, although I may not always express my observations to those around me. I like to have intellectual discussions over just about anything and would love to meet others who would like to do the same. I really enjoy witty banter and can crank out witty remarks by the dozen when I'm in the company of quality individuals. I'm primarily here to meet other people who have shared interests and make friends. Romantic relationships are possible, but not a priority.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm currently a student a LSU. Perhaps I'll go to law school or grad school after I get my bachelor's degree.

I’m really good at

Relaying off-the-wall facts that are germane to the conversation at hand.
Cranking out surprisingly good papers at 2 AM the night before a due date.
Being absent minded and forgetting mundane, although very important stuff.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm not really sure about this one. It seems people think I'm still in high school and that I'm around 16 or 17 years old, because people who don't know me often seem to treat me like I'm a bit younger than I am.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Music: I like most types of rock. I also like electric blues, classical, and a bit of flamenco. Some musicians: Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Tool, The Clash, Howlin' Wolf, Soundgarden, Gipsy Kings, Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave, Pink Floyd, Electric Light Orchestra, more to come.

Movies: There are lots, but a few of my favorites are: The Big Lebowski, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Young Frankenstein, Pulp Fiction, most Gregory Peck films, and the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Basically, if a movie is thought provoking and/or genuinely funny I'll like it.

Books: I have a bad habit of starting books but not finishing them, so I haven't read all of most of these books. Meditations, The Stranger, Heart of Darkness, Season of Migration to the North, The Lord of the Rings, Candide, and a lot more that I don't have the perseverance to type.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

All the things on Wikipedia
Various Philosophical issues
The meanings of songs and films
What I'll do with my life.
If division by zero really is impossible.

On a typical Friday night I am

Usually I'm not "out". I occasionally drink with a few friends, but that's pretty much the extent of my partying activities. A lot of the time I'm just on the internet, watching movies, or something random.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

"There is but one truly serious philosophical problem and that is suicide. " -Albert Camus

Although I'm far from attempting it and do not endorse it, I have contemplated suicide and its implications. I think that if one has never contemplated one's own death, whether by their own accord or some other cause, then that person does not truly have an idea of what really living is.

You should message me if

-You think we share interests and you can have a meaningful, fun conversation.
-If you are into Myers-Briggs personality typing and/or are a Rational (NT) or an Idealist (NF).
-If you think most "normal" people are for the most part boring.
