My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
*sigh* Time for the obligatory list of question and answers, but since there is no better way to get to know me short of talking to me, here goes: my passion is programming, there is simply no two ways about it. But I do enjoy many other things including entertaining, cooking, hanging out, etc.

I find it interesting that many people are shocked to hear that I'm not originally from Texas. Then again, those same people usually are born and raised Texas, so I guess that makes sense. At any rate, I hail from Maryland originally and moved down to Texas with my family in order to keep an in state tuition. So technically, within Texas, I've technically lived in Lubbock more than anywhere else, but I am looking forward to the day when that city can be Austin!

Anything else you wish to know is just a question away.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I recently moved down to Austin for a Software Engineering position, which I really enjoy. I'm still exploring Austin, so I am always on the lookout for the next spot to check out. Other than that, I'm just enjoying life.

Ok, so that was like 2 years ago, and I'm still exploring everything Austin has to offer. In the intervening time, my company made a move to a location downtown, so I've been making ample use of the provided 24/7 parking! Also, in the near future, I'm looking towards moving up somewhere in north Austin. I've enjoyed South Congress for a while, but now its time try something new.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Time for a nice list:
* Programming, what can I say - its my job
* Cooking
* Learning, I really enjoy the challenging of learning new things, be they cooking techniques, languages, or miscellaneous trivia (especially if it is esoteric!).
* Listening
* Board games (I prefer the more intricate ones such as House on a Haunted Hill, but I can get down with a good family style one now and again).
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Depends on the situation, but usually either my sense of humor, or my interests in almost anything.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Daemon (and Freedom TM is next on my list!)
The Martian
Brainrush series
Lost Fleet, Lost Fleet Beyond the Frontier, and Lost Stars series (Jack Campbell)
Dresden Files
Ready Player One
The Book of Deacon trilogy
Harry Potter
Spinward Fringe series
Enders Game
Peter F Hamilton (his later books leading to The Void trilogy)
- Also a bunch of NF of things that interest me, but I won't bore this list up

All your movies are belong to my list! In other words, I like almost anything.

At least a little of everything, but I mostly listen to rock, alternative, classical, big band, and electronic. Some interesting artists (in no particular order) are Lindsey Stirling, Maroon 5, 2CELLOS, Apocaliptica, Nightwish, Disturbed, The Audition, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Brian Setzer, Bond (the string quartet, not the rapper!), Cascada, Tiesto, Craig Morgan, Daft Punk, Danger Radio, E.S. Posthumus, Faber Drive, Fall Out Boy, Five Iron Frenzy, Green Day, Jem, Johnathan Larson (bonus points if you know who he is without google), Lily Allen (sometimes), Linkin Park (the old stuff), Matt Dusk and Michael Buble, Sum 41, Tech N9ne, Three Days Grace, TSO, The White Tie Affair
- Double bonus points if you recognized that I started listing them alphabetically because I couldn't actually remember any names and started searching my library.

Any and all!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Family
2. Friends
3. I'd list technology and tv/movies, but I've done without them before.
3. Books (well really: Kindle - and Audible when I'm driving)
4. Intellectual pursuits of any form (even if it is observing the fractal patterns of the veins of a leaf, I seriously did that once, and no - I was not high/stoned).
5. The spices, twists, and turns that make life interesting.
6. Food and water, though maybe thats a given.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Everything, nothing, and anything in-between. I don't think I can narrow it down to any one specific thing.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Typically relaxing from the week with something from my seemingly endless Netflix queue.
