Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a survivor- extremely resilient, and intelligent. I'm a great
friend, and pride myself on being there for others. There will
always be things that we will not like about ourselves, but I try
not to focus on them, rather I try to make sure that the things I
can change, I do, and for the better. I am trying to make the best
choices for myself and my daughter, so I am very picky about who I
let into our lives...can never be too careful. I see my friends
struggling in their relationships, and it makes me glad that I
didn't make the same mistakes. I am me, I know who I am and what I
want...and I think this scares away a lot of possible mates, but it
is probably for the best, because if they can't handle a strong
woman, they are better off without me :) On a side note, I wrote a
short MG book that I am attempting to have published, and I wrote a
business plan for a renaissance themed living history museum based
in sustainable agriculture and alternative energy- love ren fests,
but they are SO inaccurate. Just need to find the 16.5 million in

I just recently read Wonderstruck by Brian Selsnick, it was good,
and way shorter than it appears. I like fantasy, Tolkien and
Rowlings are pretty easy choices. I had a goal of reading are the
literary classics, and then after braving through most of Lady
Chatterly's lover and The Sound and the Fury and eventually getting
them on audio book and suffering through the last of them, I
decided maybe I should be more choosy. Just because they were
'Greats' in the 1900's doesn't mean that they are 'Greats' forever.
I have not read Twilight, and I haven't seen the movies, but I
considered reading Hunger games, after watching the movie. I am not
a fan of vampires. I loved The Good Earth and To Kill a
Mockingbird, and I LOVE foreign films (most of the time) and
usually anything with the Fiennes brothers. I think it is the
cinematography I like the best. I like museums, and certain art, I
like french impressionism. Carnegie is the BEST! I have been trying
to take my daughter to the theatre as much as possible, we have
been lucky with our options here. I like an eclectic array of music
from Barry Manilow to some top 10, I mostly like popular 80's music
and hair bands...I can leave Jazz, Blues, and Country. I have
worked at various ren fests since 1999 and enjoy some of the music
there, but I wouldn't play it driving down the road. If fact unless
it is Christmas or on long road trips, I usually leave the radio
off- talking with my daughter is more important.
FOOD: I have a love/hate relationship with food. I am trying to
lose weight and usually I don't have issues when I am with someone,
it falls off me (it is probably the sex), but I love dairy, but
dairy doesn't love me. I like the best cuts of steak, and I have
only had 2 hamburgers in my life. The first was Kobe beef with
smoked Gouda and applewood bacon, with a side of truffle and duck
fat fries. The second was a cheese burger at my friends house (it
was a close second). I don't cook well and would LOVE for someone
to teach me how to cook (and find creative ways to eat veggies-
cause I prefer mine raw and dipped in something) I have been
sneaking leafy greens into smoothies just so I will eat them. Which
is really fun, because who knew that drinking something that looks
like poo could be so good. I bet that if I made a few small
adjustments I could be a size 8 again in a few months...I just need
the motivation to do it.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My daughter- We clash a lot, which means that I have raised her
well- independent in her thoughts, and compassionate in her
actions. She definitely keeps me on my toes

to stay in touch

Where I want to be in the next couple of years. I miss traveling...
I have been mostly at home raising my daughter, and now that she is

I miss the mountains, and wish that I could move closer to home
(Pittsburgh, Pa) but as long as I land near Virginia, I should be
happy. I have been looking at all these profiles where people have
gone to distant countries and it is pretty depressing, because I
envy those who have had the means to do it. I have dreams of going
to Tanzania, Cambodia, Hungary, and others, but it just isn't
something I can financially do...someday.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Most of the time I am at home, but I would love to be sitting
around a campfire, talking with close friends. I am not a social
person, I have very good friends, but I am not interested in going
out every night, I would much rather get to know people better in a
more intimate setting, than have to scream over noise in a bar

Wow...I don't have many private things, so those that are private
will remain so. I am pretty out spoken, so ask me anything. If I
