My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I don't know what I'm looking for, but I'll know it when I find it.

I think I'm happiest with a pair of headphones on dancing in the kitchen making dinner, that or somewhere windswept and bleak.
I like figuring things out for my self, place huge weight in shared experience / doing things in good company and have a life full of half finished projects that I've worked out how to finish so they get left a while before they're polished off.

A fine blend of hippie and ex large hadron collider physicist.
I like hanging out in nature, reading books, looking at the stars and writing interesting software / looking at data. My current (side line) project, well there's a thing to ask about.

No longer beardy, which I think upsets me a bit, but summers here and my face quite likes the wind on it.

I spend my time in super markets poking my tongue out at young children to get laughs when their parents aren't looking or getting lost with music in my ears. Will stop in the streets to speak to dogs and cats, but generally not their owners.

I'm quiet and I don't like to make assumptions about what people are thinking, especially if its about me. Which means I'm terrible at making moves, unless they're "I'm going to go do this grand thing" type moves.
I love learning and exploring, oh and play parks.
Often a bit of a loner (highly independent), but I like people as well.

Known for outbreaks of spontaneity as well as far fetched forward planning.

N.B the non-monogamy bit at the side should be payed attention to.

Relatively well traveled, and as such I really miss having a mountain view from my office, Cambridge is pretty flat.

INTJ fits pretty well if that's your thing, but then so do most of my socks and I'm not sure where generalisations one can make from that?
Here's me being younger and doing some fire spinning.(for those on mobile that's a video link sorry )
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Blowing off some of my past hang ups and exploring the non academic side of my life some more.
Suffering from bouts of kalopsia.
Smashing atoms. (finished now)
Asking questions with childlike candor.
Climbing rocks, cycling down muddy paths.
Eating delicious things.
Remembering that manners cost you nothing, but are worth more than gold.
Wondering why the roomba has turned it's self on at 3am and why my dreams are then filled with robots.
Enjoying affection and going on fun dates.
Now that it's winter, sitting by the fire, thinking of what to read and planning things with rope and willing participants.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
patterns, computers, people (sometimes), cooking (generally made up stuff with plenty of spices), physics, stuff like that.
The odd bit of contact staff.
Some times I am passable at maths.

Getting confused and walking around in little circle until I have worked it all out.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Somehow, given that I have blondish hair I have a very rusty beard.

Apparently I have sillyily large forearms, that'll be all the climbing.

It has been said that I'm very hard to read, but its also been said that everything I'm thinking is written on my face for the world to see, so who knows?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books - Numerous and scattered, please feed me more. Currently Steven Erikson is rocking my fictional worlds.

Music - Very varied, I like finding new bands... suggest me one?
All things radio6,
This is pretty rad.
I have a strange thing for folk metal.

Shows - adventure time, the daily show, Futurama, spaced, black books, green wing, anything involving the dulcet tones of Attenborough.

Films - I like explosions and science fiction, I am a bit of a studio ghibli fan, good will hunting.

Food - Home cooked, Thai, Lebanese, Indian, mostly savory. I can never say no to sushi and you can't go wrong with a good burrito. All these things are now being done in a vegan fashion, which makes them even tastier.

Drinks - Ginger beer, earl grey tea, Whiskey (not a peaty one).
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
in no particular order:
A sense of wonder at the world, the thirst to know how it works, why the people in it feel the way they do. + people to share this with as we are more than brains in boxes, sharing our experiences fleeting or otherwise is what life is all about.

An interesting view to get lost in, trees, stars, rolling hills and so on.

A decent pair of headphones, without them I'd go a little mad.

A large book case, full of books.

Google's spell checking. (dyslexia isn't all that fun)

Oh and my sisters, whom I may have watched a lot of Gilmore Girls with.

+ kissing
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Why in an age of interconnectivity is it not possible to have a referendum on every major issue, or a form of distributed governance.

The best way to search large amounts of data and understand it in a human way.

In to equality and feminism, how it intersects with other ism's and generally only judging people on them being... them and even then who am I to judge? And that as a product of patriarchal society there are places where I slip up on my ideals and how to overcome this.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Enjoying the company of friends in the outside world or the brilliance of silence in my room.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I was raised by hippies in the countryside and grew up with no tv, a muddy face, half a zoo in the back garden and a view that everyone should be equal.

I measured my height, three times and took an average of it. Since I understand well that people generally lie about these things.

My fetlife has the same name as here.

You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
I like to get first messages, even if it's a "you go first!" it breaks the norm of things.

You can deal with the fact that I'm completely oblivious to people being attracted to / interested in me unless its spelled out.

You want to go exploring rockpools or for a bike ride.
Failing that, you'd like to listen whilst I read aloud, or you'd like to read to me, I like stories!
The idea of summer midnight bike rides appeals.
You can teach me some more fire staff (a tall order)
You can teach me some more rope work (lots to learn).

You play drums and want to make some noise.

You'd like to maybe do curling up by a fire for a bit, blankets included.
