My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Thanks for stopping by! I'm a persistent, witty, intelligent, extroverted introvert that enjoys the outdoors, caffeine, math/science/physics/astrophysics, technology, cooking, learning, punny jokes, the occasional marathon of a good show, and sporadic adrenaline rushes. I work and play hard, but take time to occasionally pause and enjoy the stillness, too.

The truth is that we're all deeper and more complex than we could ever advertise here. Like me, you're here to meet people, right? Let's talk.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Enjoying it! Thriving! I have a great job, am finishing up my degree, and have made some great friends since moving to Austin in late 2012.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: K. Vonnegut, M. Atwood, R. Bradbury, S. King, C. Pike, M. Crichton, W. Shakespeare, C. Barker, D. Alighieri, J. Verne, O. S. Card, to name a few. I love, fiction, sci-fi, and fantasy, mainly; however, I don't limit myself to those genres.

Movies: Give me wit, give me plot, and characters: realistic or not. I'd sit through it at least once. As for my tried-and-true favorites, that list is far too long!

Music is always a tough one, as my tastes are quite broad. However, here is a list pulled from my most-utilized Pandora channel, alphabetized:
Air, Alt J, Apocalyptica, At The Drive-In, Benevento Russo Duo, Boards Of Canada, Chris Cornell, Coldplay, Crystal Castles, Daft Punk, Deadmau5, Dozier, Eminem, Feed Me, Florence + The Machine, Foo Fighters, Goose, Justice, Lindsey Stirling, Manchester Orchestra, Massive Attack, MC Chris, Metallica, Midnight Juggernauts, Mumford & Sons, Muse, Nero, Pearl Jam, Pendulum, Phoenix, Radiohead, Rasputina, Ratatat, Red Hot Chili Peppers, RJD2, Scott D. Davis, Seven Lions, Skrillex, Soundgarden, Stabbing Westward, Sting, The Black Keys, The Crystal Method, The Mars Volta, The Police, The Section Quartet, The Strokes, The White Stripes, VAST, Wolfgang Gartner, Yuksek, ZZ Top

Shows: Firefly, The Wire, Wilfred, Dexter, House, Breaking Bad, BSG, How I Met Your Mother, Futurama, South Park, House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, Hell on Wheels, Eastbound and Down, Boardwalk Empire, The Walking Dead, L&O SVU, American Horror Story, Castle, Food Network, several Adult Swim shows, various Star Treks, Homeland, and miscellaneous ones that just happened to catch my eye.

Food: Up until I moved to Florida(2002-April-03), my idea of ethnic food was the Chinese buffet in my hometown. Since then, I've introduced my palate to cuisines out from under that rock of a small town, and must say: I'm just at home at an all-you-can-eat buffet as I am at many fancy restaurants, regardless of cultural influence. I am a lover of food, period. My only snag here is flour tortillas... I have a love/hate relationship with them; it depends entirely on how they're used. (However, upon my move to Austin, I was quickly introduced to and fully endorse breakfast tacos. Do you have recommendations on where to go for the best of them, past Taco Deli and Torchy's?)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
- Nature
- Logic
- Music
- Loved ones
- Peace
- Knowledge
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Efficiency, perspective, opportunity costs, work, physics, family, the future, what it means to be happy, the space-time continuum, existence, reality, money, productivity, creation, and building things.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I just discovered the joys of cooking with coconut oil; send help. Semi-related: I will cook a complex, multi-course meal out of whatever I have as long as I can postpone having to write an essay.
