I am Reflective, Optimistic, and Trustworthy.

My Self-Summary

In a nutshell: My name is Chris and I've lived on this island for my entire life. New York will always be my home but when the timing is right, I WILL move to California. To complement my true passion for the industry, I graduated from Five Towns College with a bachelors in Film/TV Production. I'm quite the film buff and I can not see myself doing anything else. Being open-minded, goodhearted, rational and genuine are strong personality traits of mine. I have a great sense of humor and no matter how bad a situation may be, I'll always looking on the brighter side of things.

I can't get enough of the New York Yankees! I'll pretty much try anything once, twice if I like it. Going to live concerts is something I look forward to every summer. I love computers, music, comedy, video games, poker, photography, picking up new hobbies, going to the gym/eating well and the great outdoors. Cooking is also something I'm starting to pick up. No matter how old I get...I will always try to stay refreshingly youthful.

Life is only as complicated as you want it to be so I live as easy going and worry-free as possible and will always keep my head up during rough times. We are all living in this world as one so we might as well make the best of what's around.

What I’m doing with my life

It's a tough market out there now, especially with my degree. It took me 6 months out of college to find just a dead-end job video editing. In May, I was laid off and it couldn't have happened at a better time. I started collecting unemployment benefits and I pretty much got paid to enjoy my summer! This gave me a chance to look back, reevaluate my life and decide what the next step was.

As much as I want to get into working on actual film sets, my realistic decision for the time being is to get into hardcore motion graphics/special effects editing. There is so much I can do in my field but being how tough it is out there now, I need to have enough patience to wait for the right opportunity. It's all about getting your foot into that tiny door.

Perhaps one day I'll produce the comedy I have in mind? Or start up a small business? I don't like to predict the future because things aren't always going to work out the way you planned it to. So for now, I am taking it day by day and hopefully sooner than later something good will come along. Once I reach my goals that I've set for myself, I know this will all be worth it.

I’m really good at

Definitely driving. I love road trips and usually make great time. From my experience, most drivers on the road where I live do NOT know how to operate a motor vehicle. This is New York, you need to keep up with the pace my friend!

I'm great with computers and I love utilizing the internet for just about anything. Technology is crucially important these days so I always try to stay up to speed with it.

I think I have a great aesthetic eye when it comes to movies. It's all about observing the psychological and philosophical side of films and TV shows to truly understand and decipher what it's trying to portray to the world. I like to read between the lines.

The first things people usually notice about me

I would have to say my eyes...and my tattoos if I happen to not wear a shirt one day :-P

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I try to read the newspaper everyday and I don't read books as much as I used to but I generally like biographies and non-fiction. It's all about Judd Apatow productions these days. My top 6 movies in no particular order are: The Terminal, Die Hard With A Vengeance, The Dark Knight, Titanic, Terminator 2 and Ransom...the list could go on.
Big fan of TV shows such as Curb Your Enthusiasm, LOST, Fringe, FlashForward, Family Guy, South Park, The Office...this list can go on as well

I'm sick of commercialized music so I'll usually just put on AM news/sports channels if I don't have my iPod with me. Music has always been my safety net during rough times and I love every genre. Dave Matthews Band is by far my favorite band and I pretty much own anything and everything by them, I am a DMB encyclopedia if you will. There is nothing better than their summer tours, tailgating and sitting ridiculously close to the stage(22 concerts and counting!) Billy Joel, Metallica, BIG, Linkin Park, The Doors and Michael Jackson are also among my favorites. Check out my youtube for some really good videos from concerts: http://www.youtube.com/nychris2007

There isn't anything I won't eat or try at least once, the spicier the better. I'm a big fan of Indian, Italian, Thai and Spanish food....but sushi tops it all.

The six things I could never do without

-Friends/Loved ones
-my Macbook Pro
-as materialistic as it sounds....my iPhone
-The Magic Bullet
-Movies/Music
-My sanity

I spend a lot of time thinking about

...where I will be and what will I be doing when I'm 30. I'm very optimistic and will work as hard as possible to build a great career and raise a happy, beautiful family and own at least 2 dogs.

A lot of my time is also spent thinking about how the hell will they end the final season of the greatest TV show to date...LOST :-)

On a typical Friday night I am

Convincing me to go out is not hard to do at all as long as I'm not dead tired at the end of the day. I'm always down for whatever and usually enjoy a good sports bar for pitchers of beer and bar food. You won't find me in the clubs unless it's a real special occasion. Summer is great on the island because I live just 15 miles north and south of the water. Also, I'll make it a point to go to the city once a month.

If I do spend the night home, I love just placing myself in front of the TV with my computer and ending the night with a good movie.

You should message me if

this is your first time(like me)doing this whole online craze. Not for nothing I don't have bad luck meeting people but like I said I'm always open to new things so I thought I'd give this a try.

If you have a good heart, a sense of humor, enjoy casual conversation and sharing opinions without being judged by them...I probably want to get to know you because this is all just the tip of the iceberg.
