This is a strange city, and I'll tell you why

Professionally, I design and make things: robotic pianos, remote control fire sculptures, game interfaces, educational events, fake squeaking boards, laser alarms (as seen on tv), museum artsy things and other twisted contraptions that people pay real money for.

Personally, I've finally learned to enjoy myself. I've been through some hard times; and genuinely appreciate the graft. It's like I've woken up. I'm free to be passionate about what I want... I know, goofy self help stuff-- I get it (really, I get it), but I still see a lot of walking dead who haven't started on their journey- it's sad, but people need to want to change. So...
I'm looking for some cracked eggs to try out quirky and clever things around London. Lets make friends, play like little kids, climb a tree, run around in a park, find a nice cafe to sip chilli hot chocolates before popping off to a costume party. If you make it that far, a kabuki theatre may quickly follow...

Oh yeah- fair warning: "egads", "frumple mumpkin", "zounds", and "gadzooks" slip out of my lips like a children's cartoon caricature of a mad scientist...
I can't help it... I never learned how to curse properly.

I'm exceptional at making things.

Also, I'm good at fixing things with magic fairy dust, debating politics/science/cookie baking techniques, making things pretty with LEDs, playing on jungle gyms, and being sweet in general.

And dancing like mad! (I know I'm impressing the crowd- they tend to stop, step away, point and cackle!)

Sensuality and touch, I am a texture freak! Plastics, brick, latex skin suits, shag carpets, brushed metal-- I touch it all.

Martial arts has been a large part of my life for years (I'm studying three styles). It's absolutely beautiful and opened me to the flow in the way that all good arts should. It's essentially a dynamic dance- reading, responding to a partner, moving, blending (and occasionally getting hit as an accent note). Beautiful and sensual, a play of limbs. Also a great way to learn discipline. I do my best to apply this to all areas of my life (with varying success).

I read a lot, usually practical stuff, with a smattering of scifi.

Movies: Serenity, Princess Bride, Garden State, Old boy, Eraserhead, The Science of Sleep, Blade Runner. Nerdy or quirky films in general.

Music: Big band swing music, Electro Swing, Xiu Xiu, Animal Collective, Modest Mouse, Deerhoof, Johnathan Coulton, Sleater Kinney, The Correspondents, quirky music, and anything I can dance to.

Haven't got lots of time for TV, but ocassionally: Doctor Who, The Mentalist, Dexter, Battlestar Galactica, The Big Bang Theory.

Food: I'm -mostly- vegetarian, and no, I don't care what you eat. I make great American style pancakes, Veg Sushi, and a mean Pumpkin Soup.
