Survived a divorce last year. Thus far, my life has been dominated by long-term relationships. It's disheartening realizing you're 27 and have never really dated. Here it goes ...

Trying to finish my last year of law school and not think about the bar exam in July. Only thing I'm in love with right now is my great job at a local law firm.

I'm not as boring as I look. You'll find I love trying new things, meeting new people, exploring new places.

Books: Love the classics but don't find myself reading them too often anymore. When it's not meh serial fiction (think: Follet, Grisham, DeMille) it's usually: Cormac McCarthy, Hunter S. Thompson, and assorted works of the Beats (read: anything which tries to uncover the real American Dream). I read nonfiction more often, especially topics like history, politics, or travel/exploration.

Music: Big fan of independent music. Especially indie rock. Artists I've latched onto over the last few years: the Decemberists, LCD Soundsystem, M83, Santigold, Neko Case and by extension the New Pornographers (which grew into recent appreciation of AC Newman), Ryan Adams, A Perfect Circle, Sleigh Bells. Also a pretty big fan of Jazz, particularly Monk and Coltrane, but I admittedly don't know enough to really appreciate it. Also a fan of classical music.

Shows: Big fan of almost everything HBO has done. Favorites: The Wire, Boardwalk Empire, Treme, True Blood, Game of Thrones, Band of Brothers, The Pacific, John Adams and all their documentaries. Otherwise, I'm a fan of The West Wing, Top Gear, Archer, Always Sunny in Philadelphia, South Park, Family Guy.

Film: Big fan of indie cinema - often find myself at the Nickelodeon Theater. Otherwise: I love just about anything the Coen Brothers or Tarantino do, I grew up with Stephen Spielberg movies like Jurassic Park and Saving Private Ryan, seem to have always liked: the Godfather, Goodfellas, Citizen Kane, Big Lebowski, High Fidelity, The Evil Dead, Layer Cake, Snatch ... this could take all day (read: there's a lot more than time I have to mention them).

Food: Love good food paired with excellent beer/wine. I'm adventurous and love trying new things. I always love: Indian, Thai, Italian, Mexican, as well as awesome American fare (think: buffalo wings, inventive burgers, BBQ, and southern comfort foods).

The First Amendment, the ability to kick a soccer ball, a healthy mind, Crimson Tide football (I'm originally from Bama), caffeine, the interwebs.

How the world could be a better place (or more often: how I could be a better person.)

Having drinks with friends. Locales include porches, bars, house shows.
