My self-summary
This is where I try and write something quirky enough to be interesting, while generic enough to not make me sound like a complete crazy.

I moved to London in June '04 from Canada (Southern Ontario, if it matters) - There was no real reason for this, one day I just found myself buying a one-way ticket, and three weeks later I was here.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a part-qualified accountant, so I work for a film company doing accountant-y things, while studying towards being fully qualified.

recently got my first London bike.. which terrifies me.. so if you want to go out with a novice urban cyclist, here's your chance! Convince me that this wasn't a ridiculous idea, and I am not just asking for a serious injury...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My list of favorite books involve a few of Kurt Vonnegut's novels, plus some Neil Gaiman, Hunter S. Thompson and Andrey Kurkov.

I also occasionally read comics/graphic novels - favourites include Girls, How Loathsome, The Invisibles, Runaways, Transmetropolitan... then the expected Alan Moore titles..

Movie-wise, all things Jean-Pierre Jeunet- A Very Long Engagement being my all time favourite (I am guaranteed to start crying within the first 20 minutes though.) I also usually like Coen Brothers and Charlie Kaufman related projects. Oh and Julie Taymor's Titus. More people should watch Titus more often.. also, and I have only seen it once, when very very sleep deprived, but I am pretty sure The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit was ace.... oh! and Six String Samurai!

I also seem to like reading the plots of horror movies, but at no time want to watch any of them ever. Even the crappy ones that aren't really scary. My imagination goes into overdrive and I lose the ability to sleep. I like the ability to sleep. The exception to this is the Resident Evil series of films.. I sort of love those...

In terms of TV, my favourite show at the moment is Community.. Followed closely by Arrested Development, Game of Thrones, Happy Endings, Archer, Orange is the New Black, Mad Men, Breaking Bad and Parks and Recreation.

For British TV, things like Luther, Spaced, Misfits, Big Train.. I liked Sirens, then Game of Thrones stole Ashley

For music, I'm one of those people who can be all over the shop. I like folk-y/singer-songwriter stuff like Azure Ray, Joshua Radin, Imogen Heap, The Weepies - though I also like cheesy dance music.. and anything affiliated with Mike Patton .. or Kid Koala ..

And Wugazi.. go Wugazi!

have started in on podcasts as well - WTF & Nerdist mainly.. used to listen to the How Stuff Works and affiliated ones, but haven't for a while.
The six things I could never do without
I have just tried to come up with an answer other than "this question is stupid" for about 10 minutes. I can't. This question is stupid.

There are no 6 things that I absolutely require which aren't universal human needs - ie water, or some form of human contact (humans are naturally social animals... though there might be some who are unnaturally reclusive, I don't think those members of the species are on dating sites.)

In which case why are we bothering to list it? you are learning nothing about me other than either a) I am human, or b) I know enough about humans to be able to fake sharing your needs and general value system in order to lure you into a trap of some kind. It probably definitely isn't b... you should probably definitely trust me.

The other option is to list things I could clearly do without (ie - "my iphone", "the letter q") just to try and feign individuality, but, when I've seen it elsewhere, I just think "if that's true, then I am sad for you" (well.. I think that about iphones being listed.. I can sort of get the attachment to the letter q.)

This question is stupid.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
which X-Man I would be (answer: Sage... though the latest film upped my love of Blink.. so.. maybe Blink..)

Or bees (I am attempting beekeeping.. I'm bad at it.. I get stung a lot)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
hmm... this isn't so much a private thing, as it is a thing..

I own a harp I cannot play... I bought it, years ago, with the intention of learning to play, but then financial things happened and a I had to stop taking lessons about 3 weeks in.

Despite this.. I never sold the expensive harp.. out of some stubborn hold on the dream that one day I'll wake up and just be amazing at it, apparently, since (despite solving the financial things) I never started lessons again.

(I also own a ukulele I can't play, but that was cheap and therefore isn't as weird to me... also small and hidden.. the harp stares as me every day.. it's 3 feet away from me now, being bitter)
