Hi. I feel weird talking about myself. I'm a bit more of a listener, especially at first. Although listed as "available" please don't assume it means desperate or easy. I'm married and poly, but very selective. I'm open to finding 'just friends' here. I'm one of those people who isn't good at making friends by herself in person. Since I spend most of my time at home, this (okcupid) seems like an interesting alternative to glancing curiously at the least drunk person in the bar (or the one with the most interesting drink!)

I've been accused of being a housewife but I waste more time online than doing laundry. I enjoy nature photography and cooking for people who like strange foods. My 'self-employment' projects only qualify as hobbies because they don't bring in the bucks. I'm also into sewing and would like to get into quilting some day. But I have no interest in knitting (ha! I just mistyped it knotting) for some reason. I also help with the upkeep for an online group. And watch TiVo'd shows in fast forward with the captioning on so I can watch them faster.

I've been told I'm good at writing, multitasking, thinking, and creative stuff involving fine hand-eye coordination. People enjoy my cooking, especially when I'm working sans recipe. I was also one of those awful people who was good in school and quietly wrecked the curve. I'm also pretty good at mishearing what you say and trying to hide a semi-horrified look.

...probably that I don't seem to be paying attention to something I should be, or that I am paying attention to something I shouldn't be.

I like Science Fiction and Fantasy books in general. Also cookbooks - but they aren't usually what I consider reading material.

I don't watch movies enough to have favorites. But it looks like a lot of people mention TV shows instead so: CSI (all 3), NCIS, House, Nature, Doctor Who, Stargate, Mythbusters. Not sure whether I like Sanctuary yet.

In terms of music Foo Fighters, Muse, Three Days Grace are favorites. No saxophones, please.

My favorite foods... pecans, that new Toffee cheese at Wegmans, sushi, licorice, brined roasted turkey, butternut squash, fava beans, arugula from Tait Farm, slightly under-ripe avocados, Zeno's onion rings, potato pancakes, rare steak, black velvet boletes...

And I'm fond of drinking... coffee, turkish coffee especially, teas (Lapsang Souchong, green tea, cinnamon apple), liquor (Vermouth, Cynar, St Germain, caipirinhas), sake, and I drink beer (porters, stouts, but especially rauchbiers, lambics, and Flemish/Flanders red ales). No Pepsi or Coke - if it's carbonated I prefer Moxie, or chinotto... or, in a pinch, Dr Pepper.

Two of the 'things' are people. Other than that I'd say dreaming, the internet, the outdoors, and my 5 senses(can I count those as one?)
