My self-summary
I'm from Maine. The good part. I consider the Appalachian Trail to be the backbone of the world. My dog silently teaches me lessons on a daily basis. I quit teaching to become a better teacher. That being said, I miss my students and value every second I had with them.

I used to think believe in the adage, "you reap what you sow." One day I went out to the garden to find a microburst had leveled 20% of my sweet corn. I'm a little more realistic these days.

I'm laid back and thoughtful, yet have no reservations speaking my mind when necessity dictates the unabashed use of words.

That's all for the moment.
What I’m doing with my life
I quit my job working for one fraudulent beekeeper in Poultney. He claimed to be organic, then sprayed his fields with Roundup. Now I'm in the Pittsfield area working on an organic vegetable farm with goats.
I’m really good at
Cooking, hiking, thinking about hiking, rolling Nat 20s, getting my dog to cause trouble, working hard, hardly working, thinking, writing, and smiling. I also have actual skills, but you'll just need to inquire.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm told that I have an exceptional beard, especially from other guys who also have exceptional beards.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read often, love art, all foods that contain no mayo, and I think live shows are fun when the musicians don't talk between songs or do sing-alongs. What kind of music and art do I entertain? The good kind.... ah yea.
The six things I could never do without
my dog.
the mountains.
quality food.
excellent beer.
the wind.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I know this sounds cliche, but post-nuclear war America and how much work it's going to be building my empire from it's ruins. Plus the cosmos. Hiking. How the nature of my work takes away from time I could be hiking. How nice it would be to meet an earnest, attractive, and hard working woman on this site? (That's a dare, ladies)
On a typical Friday night I am
Debating whether or not I should find a local contradance to attend. Then talking myself out of it, making great food, and relaxing on the porch with the pup and a drink.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
If you feed me anything with mayo I will eat it, but only to be polite.

*Apparently I have conversations with the goats in my sleep. Mostly with Honey, Alma, and Freckles. Honey needs to stop stepping on my feet, Alma needs to eat more apples, and Freckles needs to shut the hell up. Either my roommates are messing with me, or my work follows me into the land of nod. *
I’m looking for

You should message me if
You like being outside. You aren't afraid of attractive bearded men who work on a farms. You can't be afraid of my dog. You are an honest, fun spirited girl with a nerdy side who isn't afraid to get covered in mud. You love western Vermont/eastern New York and want to share it with someone.

Don't message me if your description is a four letter acronym. Seriously? The Briggs-Meyers test is irritating, and says nothing about who you are. Gimme substance, not crack-pot psychology.
