My self-summary
Enthusiastic, intellectually curious, eccentric. I've evolved a lot since starting this profile, so here are some major caveats:
I am not interested in polyamory for now.
I am very committed to my job and work comes first, period.
I am interested in a relationship but nothing too serious. I've been married once and will not try that again for quite some time. I don't want to be tied down at all.
What I’m doing with my life
Studying people, colors, words, and music. Being unintelligent around domestic animals. Overthinking everything.

I'm frequently in New Hampshire visiting family, so I do look in the lakes region/seacoast region as well as central Maine.
I’m really good at
Learning new skills.
Geeking out over fuel efficient cars.
I can be pretty good at cooking, too.
The first things people usually notice about me
My secondary sex characteristics are reasonably bodacious.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Non-fiction, classics as varied as Livy's Ab Urbe Condita and Anna Karenina, and (arbitrary) 'good' fiction. Currently reading Heart of Darkness.

Movies suggested to me (no big preferences, though off the top of my head, V for Vendetta is among the best ever);

Police procedurals/courtroom drama/mockumentary (standard TV fare), plus various oldies. I also enjoy watching MMA and Ultimate Fighter.

I studied music in college, so I am deliberately open-minded to divergent styles.

I am a meat and potatoes person with a sweet tooth. Alcoholic drinks which have peach or mint or chocolate or coffee in them are fair game, but I don't often finish my drink.
The six things I could never do without
Books.

My Android phone. I also love my galaxy tab 2. A phone can be very useful and entertaining and I get my money's worth from my devices.

Cats or dogs.

A sweater. I'm nearly always cold, even in summer.

My family. When I spent a semester abroad and was too cheap to spend money on a cell phone, talking to mother and brother once a week or so by webcam was not nearly enough. My family is very small, we've always been a "pack," and their approval and happiness mean everything to me.

And a car! My car is my privacy, my freedom, and my pursuit of happiness on America's great roads :)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
very random things.

When my mind is collected, I am usually somewhere in found music, linguistics, disability studies, queer theory, and the beauty of everything I see.

People are infinite. I don't have all the answers on religious questions, but I am very serious on examining my views therein and creating my own moral code. I have no idea yet what I would do as an authority for a developing mind.
On a typical Friday night I am
at home. I value sleep and relaxation over any other need, which can lead to some shameless neglect of eating, showering, etc when my schedule is tight.

Big crowds and loud noise scare me, sorry. I like my personal and mental space.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I've never been drunk. Or buzzed. Or smoked anything. But I'm not straight-edge on purpose, just lazy and into other stuff.
I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 18–35
  • Located anywhere
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners, long-distance penpals
You should message me if
you'd like to be friends with a warm, awkward, well-meaning eccentric. I greatly enjoy encountering people and personalities on this site, and welcome conversations on almost any topic, even if you are on the other side of the world :)

I would love to make friends with people over shared interests in music, both performing and listening. Here the important genres are guitar and or piano, with vocals, and opera, respectively.

I'm pansexual, so gender identity doesn't entirely determine who I would like to date. I'm more likely to be interested in you if you are nerdy, though.

I don't enter into anything lightly, and I try to be highly observant and gracious with relationships of every shade.

Casual for me means that we can enjoy one another in many ways with respect and no drama. Age preferences are a guideline, rather than a strict rule.

You really should get the pop culture reference in this profile, though it's not a requirement in any way.
