My self-summary
If you asked me, I'd have a hard time describing my personality. I'm a self-confessed geek who loves the great outdoors. A reserved person who can become the center of attraction if the situation calls for it. A person who "plays it safe" most of the time but does some outrageously audacious stuff once in a while.

As a well-traveled guy who has spent the last couple years studying and country-hopping all over the world (Europe, North and South America, Japan etc), coming back to tiny Singapore almost feels stifling at times. I've always yearned to return to my globetrotting life overseas, but now that I'm back (for good it seems), I've learnt to appreciate what's right here in Singapore: the food, the safety, my parents, and my friends.

My personal philosophy in life is simple: Experience and enjoy everything you can, because to me, that's what life is all about.
What I’m doing with my life
The past few years of my life was like a dream; I was all over the world and having an amazing time meeting people of diverse cultures. Now that I'm back in sunny Singapore, I've just started working in the fast-paced I.T. industry, which totally suits my nature!

In my spare time, I read a lot to broaden my mind intellectually. I also give tuition in my spare time because I love teaching and enlightening young minds. I love connecting with people and having a deep conversation over a cup of coffee is a great way to spend my afternoons.

If I have any more spare time, it'd be spent exploring new stuff. Recently I tried yoga and I loved it! Although it led to the first time that I felt really physically inferior to the ladies...
I’m really good at
making people laugh at stupid things.
The first things people usually notice about me
The first thing they'll notice is that they have to look up to talk to me. The next thing they'll notice is that my feet are about twice as big as theirs.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My movie tastes are extremely varied; I enjoy Lord of the Rings as much as Borat and Finding Nemo, and my favorite movies include The Shawshank Redemption and The Matrix. I can’t appreciate slapstick humour.
I love George Carlin, no doubt the greatest stand-up comedian and social satirist of all-time (in my humble opinion).

The most motivational book in my list is The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch. I’m a lover of self-help and motivational books, but I also enjoy great classic literature. To Kill a Mockingbird, All Quiet on the Western Front and I, Robot (the Issac Asimov version) rank among my all-time favorites.

I don't really have a favorite genre of music; anything that sounds nice to my ears is music, everything else is just noise. Having said that, I've taken a liking to Japanese music in recent years, although I do have a few English/Mandarin pop songs in my playlist, as well as the occasional Jazz piece.

Having spent some time in France, I have developed a taste for gourmet food, though these days I tend to stick to good-old hawker fare, occasionally indulging in sinful Japanese buffets. I LOVE salmon sashimi and my friends always laugh at how much I'm depleting the world's supply of salmon. I also secretly love ice cream but pretend to have a strong disdain for it because “I hate empty calories”.

Finally, I do watch anime on a regular basis, so if you're an anime fan, I'm sure we'll have a lot more to talk about!
The six things I could never do without
Laughter.
Glorious food.
Teh peng.
The Internet (that pretty much covers almost everything out there)
Company of friends and family.
My trusty do-it-all drop-dead gorgeous Galaxy Note II.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
how to improve myself and how to achieve greater things. I guess I'm not the type who rests on my laurels.
On a typical Friday night I am
doing what I do on every other weekday night: Sitting in front of my computer and surfing dating sites like this one.

Just kidding. Friday nights could be spent chilling at home if I'm tired after a long week, or out with friends unwinding.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
This would be a “most embarrassing thing” rather than a “most private thing”.

Some Americans were interested in my Chinese name and asked me to write it out for them. My Chinese (PRC) friend happened to be beside me, and he noticed (aloud) that I wrote my name wrongly. Holy crap.

(PS my name also happens to be one of the easiest Chinese characters to write. Double holy crap).
