I am liberal, cynical, and gainfully employed.
My Self-Summary
Well, I'm a 55-year-old white guy coming out of a 25-year marriage
and looking for fun companionship, both short term and long term.
I'm politically, philosophically, and theologically liberal. I
don't care how you do or don't worship, or who you sleep with,
dress like, or want to marry, as long as you're basically tolerant
and nice to people.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently, reassessing. I've been doing the whole husband/parent
thing, but the kids are grown and the marriage is over, so I'm
starting a new chapter. I'm a computer professional and part-time
musician, and the consensus seems to be that I'm a pretty nice guy
(and who am I to argue with a consensus like that, eh?). I have a
decent job that I enjoy and although I don't have a college degree,
the salary doesn't reflect it, thank goodness! So, I'm going to be
playing music, playing with my computers, and generally just
playing!
I’m really good at
Now, how do you answer a question like that without sounding like
you're blowing your own horn? Of course, one of the things I do
better than others is playing music, so maybe that's appropriate.
I'm handier than average with computers and used to be a decent
tennis player.
The first things people usually notice about me
I don't have a lot of info on that, but likely as anything, it's my
voice. I worked in radio for a while and get occasional comments on
it.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Yes, I like all those things. My favorite books and movies are
sci-fi, action, or comedy, with some classics like Casablanca
thrown in for good measure. Music - very eclectic tastes. Swing,
bluegrass, classic rock, blues, jazz, classic country (not the
slick Nashville stuff), Steely Dan, Lyle Lovett, Big Bad Voodoo
Daddy, Weird Al, J.S.Bach - almost anything besides headbanger
metal, rap/hip hop, or opera is cool with me. And where food is
concerned, I'm basically a meat & potatos guy, with some
slightly more refined tastes. Italian, Mexican, & Chinese are
OK, too (both the food and the people).
The six things I could never do without
Sweet iced tea, music, sex, and computers . . . and I'll get back
to you when I think of any more :-)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Music, sex, and computers - see 'The six things I could never do
without' for more info. I usually already have a glass of tea.;-)
On a typical Friday night I am
Listening to live music somewhere and having a cold beer or a big
glass of sweet iced tea. I do love me some sweet tea!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Not much - the private stuff's for one on one. That's why they call
it private.
You should message me if
You like what you've read here and you're liberal, tolerant, and
not dumber than a box of rocks. Oh, and horny is good, too!
