I've spent the last twenty years with two women. No, not concurrently. I married for 10 and a half years, and following the divorce I lived with my now ex-girlfriend for 9 years as well. Why am I telling you this? Because that all changed a year ago, and I have been trying to figure out this "dating" thing again ever since. But between work & theatre it doesn't leave a lot of time to meet "the one".

Thus, here I am. Hopefully, this will lead to something great.

Me: None (yes I wanted some, but it didn't happen, so it is what it is).

Me: I love to read. At least a book a week.

Me: I support our Armed Forces. I served. As did my father, grandfather, great grandfather, etc.

Over the last year, I have become involved in local theatre. Its a lot of hard work. A LOT. But I have met some truly interesting and talented people. And it has given me the opportunity to see just what I'm capable of, when I stop worrying and just start trying.

Other than that, I'm hoping to find that someone that I can go out or stay in with. I've been looking for over a year, and I must admit to a bit of discouragement.

I'm also a pretty good judge of character, at least I think I am. But I've been wrong about someone before, so who knows.

I do okay at a lot of things...in a sort of jack-of-all-trades kind of way.

My sense of humor?

I honestly don't know. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say my eyes. If I'm wearing a short sleeve shirt, it might be my tattoos.

I'm a geek...there, I said it. Actually, that was quite cathartic.

I play video games, board games, card games, etc., although not much these days, due to a lack of time.

Favorite Book: Creiton's Sword
It's by an author I know personally, and happens to be a very well written book. A close second would be Through the Looking Glass.

Favorite Movie: Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. Why? I really don't know, I just enjoy watching that movie.

Favorite TV: Well, it was Firefly. But an active series would be How I Met Your Mother.

The one.
I know that I am going to meet her. The woman I will fall madly in love with. There will be no doubt, no hesitation. Time will both stand still and fly by. I'll just know. Somehow, I will just know.

I will give her my heart. Freely. And she will do the same. No fear, no worry. Just peace as it all clicks into place. I truly believe this will happen.

You may think this is foolish. I've been told that a lot, I'm used to it. But being called foolish hasn't changed my belief it will happen before, and it won't now. If it's nothing but a dream, at least it's a good one.

I can't remember what a typical Friday night is like. But I'm not at home, unless I have people over.

But I miss having that someone, just curled up on the couch, whether it be watching a movie, listening to music, or simply reading a book. There is something about the close proximity of that someone special that makes all those things much more enjoyable.

In all honesty, I probably won't message you first.

I've heard all the horror stories about online dating, both from friends and from reading the profiles on sites like this one.

Any assurances that I could offer about not being like "those" men, would be viewed with the same skepticism as the rest of my profile.

It seems I start off with a few marks against me, both from being on an Internet dating site, and due to my gender, not to mention the fact that I indicated that I enjoyed acting.

Thus, my reluctance to be seen as aggressive or a game player by initiating conversation. Sadly, I fear this works against me as well, as I may miss out on something wonderful due to my hesitation.
